1.0. Company History

The Suez Environnement Company is credited with provision of services ranging from treatments, production and the distributions of drinking water. Their services also encompass the collection and processing of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes. However, the company does not operate with nuclear wastes or the recycling of waste products. In addition, the companys trade name is Ondeo that provides sanitation and drinking water services while engaging multiple designs and other related water treatment options. The company has established a wide network throughout many countries with the provision of elaborate water services. It is also involved in the waste water management service. In the prospective processes of service delivery, the company works through different business segments such as Water Europe International and Waste Europe Segment.

In the Waste Europe Segment, the company provides treatment waste collection mechanisms for the local authorities as well as other industrial clients. These services encompass collection, recycling and energy recovery for both hazardous and non-hazardous waste products. Also, Water Europe also provides pronounced set of water distribution and water treatment services under the contracts of concession. These services are also channeled to individuals, industrial and local authority customers. On the international segment, the company engages in the expansion of the above business segments, a process that is anchored on opportunities that could arise in the segment of water supply and waste treatment sectors as well as engineering service. The company particularly focuses on the risk managements prospects that arise from certain local environments through setting up of partnerships that ventures into hedges and other limited investment or capital within highly regulated jurisdictions. Suez was established on 9th November, 2000 based in Paris, France.

The Suez Environnement owns a large amount of expert base in the segments of water management that allows it to design and execute long-term solutions that are focused towards the individual needs of every client and environments. Suez is also a long-term player in the water management business segment that creates a pronounced sustainable solutions ranging from designs to the implementations of procedures besides spending all its business capacity to enhance efficiency of customer relationships through a decentralized structure of organization that is very close to the clients. For the local clients, the company manages water resources that deliver water resources to the largest possible group of consumers and further treats the waste water. The company delivers water management services to millions of households and industrial companies that assisted thousands of diverse sized local authorities globally.

Suez Company claims more than 120 years experience in the industrial supply of drinking water and sewerages systems. The company focuses on the generation and execution of technologies in water treatments and project studies processing. The cooperation of the company with local municipalities is also anchored on a delegated management principle that provides both municipalities and towns a capacity to manage its infrastructures to Suez based on long-term contracts while their aggregate properties remains under their individualized possessions. Suez is also a company partnering with majority of towns in the operating companies. In partnership with other companies that will be discussed in this paper such as SITA in China. Through the partnerships of the company with others in the same market segment, they have integrated a profound approach to enhanced service delivery by widened service delivery network. Besides, the company is able to maintain its price levels across different locations and environment while at the same time promoting the quality of lives of their clients. The company is based on sharp focus on the opportunities underlying the water supply segment of Australia.

1.1. Establishment of Suez under Australian Water Shortage Market Segment

There has been progressive environmental degradation that is linked with mass use of the global societies. Subsequently, the global water resources have been facing significant threats. Experts such as Postel have also diagnosed that the death of Aral Sea was associated with over-exploitation of the water resources as well as strains of River Colorado as a result of massive human invasion across the entire world that reinforced the demand for several actions towards enhancing water management. Behind this subject, Suez has focused its initiative towards enhancing water management as a prospect for promoting sustainable use of the commodity in the long-run. Nevertheless, the gap in existence between the needs for interventions and the real impacts of the interventions has also developed at a significant rate. The mapping out of water stressed regions in the year 2000 also showed that about 45 percent of the global population had been facing significant water supply constraints (Roth, 251). In recent one decade, the gap is indicated to have risen to about 80 percent of the global population that has been exposed to the high levels of threats to water security.

There have been critical considerations of human impacts on the hydrological cycle that embrace three main aspects namely: the size of hydraulic engineering mechanisms focused on the natural streams of water, effects and uncertainties that are linked with availability of water forecasts. there has been projections of potential scenarios of rises in sea levels that are coupled with a major decrease in the amount of continental waters that is directly associated with human water accessibility. Lack of credible research and analysis of works related to water withdraws and diversions have been critical in increasing the risks of such projects besides driving watercourses to unsustainable levels.

Furthermore, Pearce also indicates that water resources have been following the path to depletion through a series of analysis of various water constraints globally that demonstrates in different fashions the state of water inadequacy globally. In this regard, water has become economically, socially and physically scarce commodity across different places globally even at places where it had been an abundant commodity in few years ago. Some areas have also been experiencing acute water shortage while other has poor distribution patterns that have derailed access by majority of people. Majority of the world models of climate change have also foreseen decline in precipitation, most of the densely populated areas notwithstanding examples of which includes the Australian and Brazil. The countries with the biggest population are most adversely affected by reduced precipitation. In particular, severe droughts have been some of the eminent scenarios in Australia, an aspect that have adversely influenced the countrys water management schemes. This scenario has become one of the main target opportunities for Suez establishment in Australia and Brazil among other states spread out globally.

1.2. Natural Changes in Water Supply & Availably

Although there has been gradual increase in the average amount of precipitation since 1900, the overall rates have decreased since 1970s despite the progressive increase in population sizes. This scenario has been marked with reduced winter and autumn rains. In essence, the water management aspects from the Australian rivers are an urgent policy issue that has been facing the government at each tier of Australian Federation. However, regardless of the considerable powers of the commonwealth relative to certain environmental issues, the constitution of Australia restricts the Commonwealth implication of the federal levels of government in prevailing over state rights (March 2643). In the last decade, Australian government has been seeking extra mechanisms towards gaining state acceptances of the real needs to change the policy of water management.

One of the oldest registered agreements in water collaborations in Australia was established in 1915 with the three most developed states by water supplies being Victoria, New South Wales and the South Australia. However, from 1915, the agreement has been altered to encompass the entire sets of Basin States to reflect its economic significance. The agreement however assumed a legal force through a parallel law established in every jurisdiction. Despite the fact that the agreement had been for a period of time, increase in water consumption has created additional challenges associated with either water or the environment interfaces. Increased salinity of the land and water have also triggered novel management arrangements such as the pioneer caps and the trade schemes that focused towards reaping reduction in salinity.

The countrywide commitments to enhancing water management for enhanced consumption in Australia was driven by National Water Initiative while recognizing progressi...
