For our case, it's important to understand that both the federal and state courts have different strategies for calendaring and continuance. For example, in the federal court, both calendaring and continuance are based on individual cases. Hence there will be no delay in the hearing of the robbery case because they will only be focused on the main proceeding of the case because of the intensity of the charges. This is due to the fact that the judge would want to take the shortest time so can he can also continue with other minor proceedings.
