Introduction
Political reason among other primary motives explains why there is a continuation of embargo between the two countries in varying degrees. The extension in this degree of the blockade has led to the emergence of several debates some of which provoked accusations about the strong decision that the United States embraced over Cuba. Deeply, the act of the United States was a major cruel factor in the economy of Cuba, and this then influenced her economy negatively (Spadoni, 2017). The massive report of loss has been reported in the Cuban region because of the embargo; an activity resulted from the United States of America. Several calls have been made to change the United States stand to ensure that the United States authority upholds the policy of international law. Calls have been as a result of the various debate held by different bodies such as the international community among other relevant bodies regarding the policy and rights. The Cuban economy was affected intensively by the embargo. Lack of access to pharmaceutical products, education sector, as well as the agriculture sector, are some of the major economic effects of Cuba that was affected by the Embargo. The paper here analyses how embargo affected the Cuban economy as well as the current situation of the Cuban community.
Access to Medical Products (Pharmaceutical Products)
Cuba was largely affected by the embargo initiated by US administration. The Cuban economy was affected as most of the products that arrived in the country got some link with the United States. The economy is influenced because they could not manage to purchase the appropriate pharmaceutical product of the company in the country. This has been the effect as the Cuban government is in the constant movement of ensuring quality services is offered in the country's health facilities. The embargo impacted on the Cuban economy and the other hand, the government was continuous efforts of providing health care with a reasonable budget to make sure that there is a constant supply of the medical products such as the pharmaceutical product. The government was in such one to ensure it better the lives of her people within the country.
Prohibited Ships
Prohibited ships were one of the reason or effect that the United States had with the Cuban government and this act influenced the Cuban economy negatively. The prohibited ships had several effects presented in various sector of Cuba government, and more so, the effect was intense in the health sector of the country and her people at large. The major effect that sanction caused was on products delivery to Cuban people, and that had a direct impact on the economy (Borenstein, Korn & Smyschkovich, 2018). The delayed or completely undelivered products pronounced a bigger loss to the government of Cuba and her people. It is one of the effects that the Cuban government had as well her citizens over the past years of their experience. This act still impacted the healthcare facilities of Cuba negatively that then means poverty in the whole country.
Currency Regulations
Trading with the foreign act, Cuban assets control regulation were some of the factors that provoked the continued effect of the embargo which then translated to a prolonged, extensive effect of the embargo on the Cuban economy. Through the stated act above, Cuban currency was regulated, and this later formed the basis of a direct effect that has been pronounced on the Cuban people.
Will Embargo be Lifted Shortly?
Politically, it will depend on the system of administration and set relationships between the Cuban administrations and the United States administration. This two relationship will tell either if embargo will be uplifted shortly or not (Burns, 2018). The currently provided information by the two administrations, both the Cuban administration and the United States administration, they both sound to be having a good plan, and this then means that embargo will not be lifted. So we can predict the movement and tell whether embargo will be lifted based on the coexisting relation of the succeeding government in two countries.
As per the current relationship between the Cuban government and the United States administration, the embargo will not be uplifted. The United States government has presented more effort, and that shows embargo would not be uplifted in the long run. Several calls by communities have provoked the United States to cease its sanction process (GraddyLovelace, 2018). The consistency call has shown result, and the United States government seems to cease the effect of the embargo, this then would demonstrate the less expected result that embargo would be uplifted. From the call made by several national bodies, Embargo will not be lifted shortly and, this then would translate to the less economic effect of Cuban people and administration as well both politically and economically.
What is the Current Situation of the Cuban Economy?
In the last few years, major incidents have happened which has created a larger impact on the Cuban economy positively. The restored relation that existed since the year 2015 has shown successive improvement in the economy of Cuba up to date. The tremendous movement that currently exists between Cuba and the United States has pronounced major results in several Cuban sectors such as the tourism industry and the health sector (White, 2019). The tourism industry had experienced this major change and then created a significant economic effect on the Cuban country since the year 2014 when the restriction was abandoned, and people between two regions could move peacefully. This then created a chance for tourists to move to Cuba and thus a positive impact that is now in the Cuban economy.
The economy of Cuba has grown tremendously because of the several activities has been enabled. In the health sector, products such as pharmaceutical products move in the country, and there are improved medical conditions as well as equipment in Cuba. It shows a positive impact on the current economic states of Cuba. Because of reduced current regulation policy, there has been a rapid effect in the current economy of Cuba, such tourist can find it easy to exchange money and get to Cuba, and this has made a significant impact on Cuba.
Conclusion
Embargo tremendously affected the Cuban economy in several ways which include sanction of ships, currency regulation rules among others impacted effect on the economy of Cuba. Sanction ships prevented direct entry of health products such as pharmaceutical products among others. The effect had a direct impact on the health standards of the Cuban people as well as the country economy. On embargo, there are no chances that it will be lifted because of the rapid increased growth between the two countries. Politically, the prohibition will exist, and this will depend upon the establishment of a relationship between the two countries. Currently, the economy of Cuba has shown major improvement such in the tourism industry because of free movements' citizens between the two countries.
