Introduction
I have been interested in pursuing Master of Science degree in international business ever since I was a freshman. I have a Bachelor of Finance degree from the Australian National University. Additionally, I am a proactive and creative student, and I am motivated to undertake multicultural business immersion initiatives in Australia, Korea, and China. Moreover, I have a 3-year experience in innovative marketing and team building. I am also passionate about foreign exchange trading as well as real-estate investing. I believe that I have requisite skills for this postgraduate program. I am good at system improvements, portfolio constructions, corporate valuation, digital marketing, and team building and supervision. Furthermore, I am proficient in Mandarin, English, and Cantonese, which will improve my interactions with many clients from diverse language. I am also proficient in Microsoft Office, which is a bonus in carrying out analysis such as bootstrap. Therefore, this postgraduate program will help in perfecting my skills.
Notably, after completing my undergraduate studies, I worked in various capacities at different institutions. I have served as a head operator of online sales of Donuts Hut in Foshan, Guangdong. I was also a senior partner in charge of the company's daily operation. It is worthy to pinpoint that under my leadership; I used WeChat App as an online marketing tool to increase sales volume by 40% over three months. Also, I have worked as a promotional agent for doTERRA, China. My work as a promotional agent entailed endorsing aromatherapy and essential oils to many aging people and young mothers. I was also tasked with the responsibility of disseminating knowledge about mental relaxation, facial care, and treatment of respiratory diseases using aromatherapy. I also organized 15 learning and sharing sessions in Guangdong, China in a month. Moreover, I built fives sales teams as well as recruited 200 members in a fortnight using a digital marketing system.
It is vital to note that I majored in capital market in my undergraduate studies at the Australian National University. While at the institution, I learned to apply theoretical foundations in practice. It is worthy to mention that I was also selected to the exchange abroad to South Korea and Shanghai, China. I also learned how to solve a variety of financial problems facing organizations. Also, I developed a keen analytical mind required to succeed in the capital market while I was at the Australian National University. Additionally, I developed skills required for independent and collaborative work in collection, processing, interpretation, and communication of financial problem outcomes. Imperatively, these outcomes encompassed corporate valuation, risk management, and portfolio constructions. Furthermore, I developed skills necessary in conducting risk appraisal and pricing of derivative products through both qualitative and quantitative methods. These skills have been helpful to me in the fast-changing world of finance.
I have also acquired training in Global Business Immersion from Korean University. While at this academic institution, I maximized my learning experience through in-class activities and site visits to government agencies, family business conglomerates, and corporations such as Hyundai Motor and Samsung Electronics among others. I also enriched my analytical skills required in international business environment. Also, I learned and improved verbal communication skills within business teams, leaders, and other stakeholders, particularly regarding a cross-cultural context. It is also essential to mention that I received training on Chinese economy and society from Fudan University's summer camp. During the training, I held close communication with the best scholars specialized in the Chinese Economy and Society from London School of Economics (LSE), Shanghai Jiaotong University, and Fudan University. I also formed an in-depth understanding of China through company tours to Wahaha and Baosteel Corporation.
I also experienced urban development of China in three different cities of Hangzhou, Suzhou, and Shanghai, a situation which enabled me to understand China's political and economic landscape. I have also volunteered at the Asian and Australasian Society of Labor Economics Conference held in December 2017. It is worthy to note that I am a current member of the Department of Foshan Guangdong, Chinese Billiards and Snooker Association. I am also serving as an international student representative at Sanshui International Student's Association in Foshan, China since December 2016. Moreover, I am currently a member of Foshan youth Business Association of Australia since 2015.
