My goal for past 48 hours was to keep health through playing basketball. It is a game that I have been practicing since I was a child. However, due to school work commitments, I had to stop playing and focus on my education. I realized that my health was starting to deteriorate due to lack of playing since most of my time I usually spend reading books or playing computer games. For the past 48 hours, I decided to achieve my goal by practicing basketball every day when I get some free time. Initially, the experience was challenging since my body was not used to a lot of exercising. The first time I started playing I could hardly breathe properly as I felt very exhausted. I knew this was one of the signs of poor health conditions and it motivated me to even work extra hard so as to improve on my breathing system.
To ensure that I continue practicing for the next remaining days, I took out my timetable and assigned myself some few hours of practicing during the free times. I knew that I could maximize on those free times which I used to talk with my friends or play computer games. As a way of ensuring I attain a certain target, I had to tick on a piece of paper how many hours I was able to train each day. At the end of the 48 hours, I realized that I had achieved my goal of a workout through playing basketball. However, I also experienced several challenges during the process. First, I had to strain a lot since my body was not very that flexible. As such, it affected my daily routine work as I felt some pains in various parts of my body.
Procrastination was another challenge that I experienced during those 48 hours as I kept postponing some of my free time to do other things instead of playing basketball. In that light, I wasted most of my free hours doing other activities which hindered my aim of the full exercise. What is more, I was distracted by certain things such as watching my favorite television programs. However, in that future, I need to program myself to focus on my goal for a longer period. I realized that I need to continue practicing if I want to improve my health conditions and avoid certain illnesses. Another challenge was the urge to play computer games like am used to instead of focusing on my goals. To prevent such actions in the future, I would ask my parents to monitor my activities so as to ensure that I can be able to achieve my full potential.
One of the beliefs from that 48 hours was that I gained from that experience was the aspect of commitment. I realized that for me to achieve my goal, I should be fully committed to it. In that light, I should ensure that I continue practicing for the next few months. Based on that, I need to rearrange my schedule by allocating more time to practicing basketball instead of playing computer games. A right attitude is another value that I need to uphold in the future as a way of achieving my goal. This concerns my attitude towards that sport.
