The two organizations with significant differences are Houston Healthcare and Wiregrass Medical Center. The mission for Houston Healthcare is to promote health and wellness by improving community health and availing excellent services that are not only cost-effective but also focuses on patients (Houston Healthcare, 2017). Wiregrass Medical Center, on the other hand, has a mission of striving for excellence, improving patient care, and supporting their employees (Wiregrass Medical Center, 2017). Additionally, while Houston Healthcare has a vision of dedicating their health services today and tomorrow, Wiregrass Medical Center has no vision indicated on their website. Houston Healthcare focuses on their patients, quality, and the community while Wiregrass Medical Center focuses on their patients and employees.

The possible implication of these differences to for various stakeholders such as nursing administration is the lack of accountability and partnerships developed at the unit level. In regards to patients and community, one implication is the lack of recognition as partners in the organization. It means that the nursing role within each facility cannot progress towards sustainable development. Abraham and Moretz (2012) assert that without proper organizational policies that reflect upon core mission, vision, and values, the healthcare facility will not have the potential to yield satisfactory results.

Moreover, the goal of Houston Healthcare that is in line with their mission is to educate their staff to become competent, comprehensive, compassionate, and patient-centered in their setting. Marquis and Huston (2012) articulate that strategic planning tools help leaders assess their capabilities and aid in decision-making. On a broader perspective, goals and objectives should be outlined with SWOT to identify as many alternatives as possible for care within the facility.

In summary, recognizing and understanding the significance of positive characteristics in an organization lead to sustainable development of a healthcare setting. Healthcare organizations should set their goals at both internal and external levels. Also, their mission, vision, values, and focus should have a basis on a strategic plan.
