Managerial Style
On the motivation test I scored 7 in the mostly true list and 1 in the mostly false list making a total of 8. The results indicated that I have extrinsic motivation for tasks. Extrinsic motivation for task as explained is commonly used by managers, which means that I more likely to prefers extrinsic rewards in my career. On the manager achievement test I scored for in the mostly true list and 4 in the mostly four list making a total of 8. This was neither a high nor low score as it is the average of the total number of questions. This means that I have a balance between a focus on personal achievement separate from others, which as indicated is ideal for a specialist or individual contributor. The other balance entails being a generalist as a manager who can get things done through others. The score on this test indicate that I am ready to be a good manager. On the third test I scored 7 on the mostly true list and 1 in the mostly false category which indicates that I am more of a new style manager.
The results of the test provided me with a better understanding of the kind of manager that I would in addition to my style of management and my readiness at being a manager. I was not surprised by the results since I have always been able to get things done through people even in class groups and other groups that I have found myself in. However, it also made me realize that I am more focused on extrinsic rewards something I had never considered before. Comparing these with the manager in the interview, I can say that I have most of the qualities of a good manager since I have the drive and the comprehension of what it is required to be a good and effective manager.
