Alan begins his story with Einstein waiting for his work on time to be typed. Einstein has developed a condition of dreaming about time each and every night. From his thoughts, he concludes that time is a circle and that it can flow towards the past and branch into parallel worlds. In each of these worlds, the times are different and thus affecting the people living in them. Einsteins dreams are a work of art that is intermittently torn apart by interludes. At the moment when Einsteins dream resumes, Alan describes that according to Einstein, time brings about order or confusion. Time is located at a central point in the universe where it is at a standstill. The dreams of Einstein represent a condition of brilliance. A perfect state of artistical work is portrayed by Alan when he clearly describes the bundles of thoughts in forms of dreams.

On another occasion as quoted by Alan, Einstein shares his dreams with a friend known as Besso. He tells his friend that he is dreaming of the world where time moves in the backward direction. He also states that he sees people growing from old to young. In another instance, he dreams of another world where people only live once then die. Afterward, he tells Besso of a situation where he sees people living forever. Alan writes that on June 10th, Einstein dreamt of time as a quality or something of value rather than something that can be measured. The writer further quotes that in accordance to Einsteins dreams, time is spatial in dimension and that there is no future. Time has the ability to start to stop in a manner that is imperceptible. There is the world with only one clock that is worshiped around the world.

Einsteins Dream expands one's perspective about human condition and nature as well. Many instances Lightman uses drastic changes of various human values in different situations to portray how human act. Take, for instance, in a dream where life comes to an end on 26th of September. Bernie people stopped getting worried on matters that are rendered petty. They start to view people as of value; they value life as well as food. In depicting this change in human condition, the Author says, they do not seem to mind that the world will soon end because everyone shares the same fate. The world with one month is a world of equality.(pg57) In this quote from chapter 1, the author attempts to posit how human condition and humanity is more of good nature than bad. When people can resolve conflicts peacefully, and when people tend to forget about life that is when they can have a wholesome life to live. This can be alluded from The Creation, that without the effort, people can have happier as well as fulfilling live to live.

In conclusion, the work of Alan Lightman is an aspect by which he tends to posit and illustrate more about the human condition. There are circumstances of time-scapes portrayed in the work which is a code for humans own subconscious values. The values described here are only viewed via the opportunity metaphorical dreams as depicted by Lightman. In my opinion, as drawn from the book, when the time changes it consequently changes humanity.
