My short term goal is to join University and study education as a major and agriculture as a minor. This will prepare me adequately for my teaching career. It is here that I will learn on how to be a professional teacher who is knowledgeable and sharpen my delivery skills and overcome my fear of meeting new people. Studying agriculture, on the other hand, will give me a better understanding on crop farming and cattle rearing. Bearing in mind that many people in the university are from different backgrounds, I will use it to my advantage and learn about diverse cultures and their view and take on life. Moreover, I will learn about various agricultural practices and how productive they are compared to the way it is done in my home town which will bring about food security and economic growth.

My second goal is to be a teacher. I have always dreamed of teaching and helping others. I am passionate about teaching children and helping them. By doing this, I will encourage children to work hard, patience and perseverance, and educate them about its importance. Thus they will grow into influential people in the society. It is through teaching that I will be able to instill values of love for neighbor, peace, and equity in children from a tender age; this will reduce on the challenges we face today such as racism and stigma. Teaching has a great impact on the way society is shaped and becoming a teacher will give me the opportunity to shape a society into good morals where people are productive and innovative.

I have always had an interest in agriculture which has had a significant role in determining what I want in future. This is the reason I want to be a 4-H leader in my county after finishing college. I have been a member of the 4-H club which has provided me with many opportunities and taught me skills that I can apply in future. It is through 4-H that I built my knowledge in agriculture by taking care of livestock and showing cattle. It provided me with social experiences thus I overcame the fear of interacting with people from different backgrounds and gained leadership skills sine I was the president of the club. 4-H brought out the best in me. By becoming a 4-H leader, I will give other children the chance to become productive citizens through personal development and acquisition of skills.

In my view, teaching is not just a profession but a calling. Everyone who has gone through education has a memory of a teacher who had an impact on their life. From an early stage in life, teachers play a big role in the lives of people. In my case, a teacher with a passion for agriculture takes things to a whole new level.
