Introduction
Arts work is an exciting part of society. The sculptures, painting, and photographs that are presented by different artists express important ideas. There are several famous artists whose works present different messages. In my paper, I have chosen Jackson Pollock and Peter Blake. Throughout the paper, I will compare and contrast their work while explaining how they qualify for the arts.
The works of Peter Blake seems to be more commercial whereas those of Jackson appears to be his free-thinking expression concerning expression set out on canvas. Most of the painting of Blake compost pictures within pictures. The pictures are homogenously painted appearing on a singular plane (Webb, B., Skipwith, P., & Blake, P. 2010). His paintings show us the common trait of treating visual as objects to assimilate them into badges of our identity in which we can understand between adopting and looking in the society. In his works also, Blake shows different motives. The infiltration of popular culture and in particular pop music is seen as one of his motifs. The most known example of the crossing of genres is identified in the works Blake produced. The works of Blake is a representation of the British conditions of looking for better condition presently or future. In the Blake pop art, the search resulted in the idealism that is seen in American pop culture and advertisement. One of great paint by Peter Blake is the Portrait of David Hockney in a Hollywood Spanish Interior as shown below.
Jackson Pollock is among the abstract expressionist, and his work is evident with the most famous painting. Just like Peter Blake, Jackson Pollock was not interested in the size of objects but rather the messages and impression of the sculptures and paintings. By 1940s Pollock introduced the famous drip painting that had many attractions (Harrison, H. A. 2014). The drip painting was a representation one of his original bodies of arts of the century. Autumn Rhythm is one of his trip panting that he created in 1950 shown below. Throughout, his work became alterations of arts in American society. In most cases, the new artwork of Pollock suggested the life force in nature while others evoked entrapment of man in the anxious mind, body and the new modern world. During his painting, Jackson Pollock canvases were either laid out against the world or set on the floor instead of getting fixed on the easel. It was from there that Pollock showed his techniques and that he was not interested in the size but rather the outcome. He could apply a style where he allowed the paint drip from the can.
The works of Jackson Pollock and Peter Blake involved the application of different techniques focusing on the quality of the outcome. Usually, the photographers have one of their interest is the quality. They apply many techniques in the edition of the content. The works of the chosen artists hence get classified as mixed media images for instance, in addition to 'splash style and drip' that Pollock applied in his work, he also applied all over method during the many artworks that he created. The images and design that were created using many styles of painting by this artists had no relation to the size of the outcome. Also, with the work of Jackson Pollock, it appears that the presentation of his content was associated with his techniques (Barnbaum, B. 2010). Most of the pieces that he created required him to crop the canvas or trim the image. The digital revolution is impacting the photography particularly when cropping of the images to come up with the final improved imaged.
