The participation in football activities presents college students with an opportunity to interact with others in the field, socialize and make friends outside the classroom or social halls. During match days, crowds gather to watch entertaining matches and the cheering from the stands can be so fulfilling for a college student. It is in events like this that students get to exercise their socializing skills, and share with teammates things, including meals and drinks. It creates a conducive environment in which college students can meet and enjoy their leisure time effectively and competitively by striving to win games and entertain fans.
Apart from stress relief for the students, football activities can also help them develop their talents. A footballing talent can take students very far, especially those with ambitions to play professionally. Most scouts identify footballing prospects early enough when the students are still in colleges. Once picked, they can pursue their dreams in big stadiums playing for famous football teams and earning enormous amounts of wages hence improving the quality of their lives.
Football has supported many students in colleges through fees and other provisions. Such a talent can earn someone a scholarship and keep them in school. School football teams can earn monetary rewards through football and these trickle down to the students. Coaches can link students to professional teams or scouts.
