Misunderstandings between the children and their parents have often gone far back. The disagreements have existed as far as families were created. Different parenting methods have always existed between the different families. For instance, differences and misunderstandings have been found in "The Veldt" where due to lack of communication in the family, the family is filled with challenges, lack of trust, and respect. Without respect, love and trust in a family the relationship between parents and children are bound to be rock. Parents are powerful forces that guide the lives of children. The children also play a significant role in the parents lives even by the existence in itself. Parents always want to develop strong relationships and bonds with their children while maintaining health and great adult and marital relations.

According to Bariola, Hughes, & Gullone, (2012), the relationships between parents and children is the most important of the other existing relationships. The emotional bond that often involves the closeness, connectedness, the positive emotions and attachment of security is the most critical dimension. Parents always forgive their children. It is even evident with the story of the prodigal son. The son asked for his dues and went away from home will all the wealth, even after the misuse of the family resources with other people, he knows that there is nowhere else to go but back home. When he comes back home, he is received well even after the mess he created. The story shows us that parents love is unconditional. No matter what the children does the close bond to their children will always make the parents bail out their children from difficult situations.

Conclusion

Building and maintaining parent-child relationships takes work. It requires effort and time and sometimes can be very frustrating. However, parents and children can always have problems even when they think they have done everything. What follows is problems that can be hard to fix. Although the relationship can be emotionally intense and long lasting, the tie can sometimes include irritation feeling, ambivalence and tension. With the growth of children tensions may exist between the parents and children. The pressures sometimes lead to legal battles that end up with lawsuits. Misunderstandings and disagreements regarding some topics can be detrimental to the parent-children relationships. The relationship tensions may sometimes have negative implications on the relationship opinions.
