Introduction
Humanity refers to the collectiveness of all individuals in the world or the quality of being humane. When a problem by a member of the society is not solved it spills over to the next members which affects the entire community and later the neighboring communities and eventually the globe; diseases is a typical example. This situation demands global attention to restore sanity. To accomplish such a task, all ideas, values, and norm from different societies across the world have to be equally respected. This situation will create an atmosphere of freedom and justice where all human beings with have equal rights and responsibilities in dealing with global challenges. Moreover, the barriers placed by gender, race, and region among other to be eliminated to enhance cooperation among humanity. Therefore, the responsibilities we have as humanity do not differ from ones as members of the society, since the societies make the global community and issues start from the society and spread to the world.
The proposed universal declaration of human responsibilities provides a better way to view the duties of each member of the society in building a harmonious world. The document is divided into several chapters with each containing different articles. The universal responsibilities of human beings towards each other, animals, and the environment are the contents of the document. Under the fundamental principle of humanity, all people despite their race, age, gender, nationality, political stand, religion, and culture among other demographics are responsible for treating each other person in a humane manner (Council, InterAction 5).
Moreover, the section for non-violence and respect for life has various articles, but the first one states that each person is responsible for respecting life. Hence, nobody has the right to kill, injure, or torture another human being. Also, it disputes any violent means of conflict resolution. For instance, violence in one region affects the entire world, and that is why the international peacekeepers use various means such as diplomacy before resorting to military forces (Council, InterAction 9). An example of the war in the Middle East affects oil trade which affects the prices of petroleum across the world, thus dealing with the Middle East societies is the first steps towards a peaceful world. This situation confirms that responsibilities at society and global level are the same for all humanity since they are interconnected.
Furthermore, concerning respect for life, every person is considered infinitely precious. The environment and animals demand human protection. This is a condition to promote a balanced ecosystem lets humanity suffer natural calamities. People are expected to protect the air, water, and land and is why the world has partnered to fight pollution since these resources are connected. For instance, pollution effects in one country will automatically move to the neighbors and spread further across the world. Air pollution by China due to its industrialization has had an impact in most countries in the Far East as shown by Rohde (13).
Additionally, all humanity has a responsibility to promote justice and solidarity. To fulfill the obligation, all members of the society are expected to behave with integrity, fairness, and honesty. No person or a group or a nation is allowed to defraud or deprive another of their property. Across the world, border disputes are prevalent for instance between Georgia and Abkhaz or Pakistan and India. These disputes start with members of the society reporting to their government that people from neighboring societies are invading their land which leads to a conflict between nation then regions and the world. For instance, the Georgia-Abkhaz situation which has lasted for more than five decades have affected Americas, Asian, and Europe and actors from these regions have arrived to perform their humanitarian roles (Suslu 105). This situation confirms that responsibility as a society and humanity are inseparable.
Conclusion
In conclusion, our responsibilities as humanity are intertwined with ones as a member of the society. "Charity begins at home" is a wise proverb to explain this situation as societal conducts affect the global outcome. We have to recognize the infinite price of life and protect it. The animals and the environment supports the ecosystem, and thus human beings should protect them. Tolerance towards each other is the key to a peaceful world, and it all started in the society.
