Introduction

The family has changed its dimensions in recent years, organized itself in different ways and modified its values. Over time, due to changes in the female figure in society, such as financial autonomy, marriage has ceased to be its main objective, the escalation in the labor market, as well as the search for professional achievement. The inclusion of women in the labor market and the search for professional stabilization led to the postponement of marriage. Particularly for the most favored sectors of the population, single life has become a desired option and therefore more common today, to the detriment of what happened a few years ago when marriage was practically a social imposition (Amato, Patterson & Beattie, 2015).

Faced with the perception of single parenting, there is a prevalence of interviewees revealing negative aspects of it, that is, they dealt with difficulties mainly at the beginning of the single parenting of their families. In the opinion of our interviewees, society continues to stigmatize, through few social support responses, either economically, or because of the lack of social facilities and intervention programs directed at single-parent families of women.

As for the factor overcoming the challenges, we can conclude that most of the women who participated in our study did not point out ways to overcome their challenges, which allows us to say that psychological pressure, overloading of tasks, financial difficulties and the lack of time for themselves, prevent them from thinking of overcoming, causing a vicious circle: work-child-house/work-child-house... (Amato et al., 2015).

The first stage in assisting Jill deal with single parenthood challenges is creating awareness of the benefits of or being a single parent. Parents should only be concerned with the child's well-being, conditioning the change or even denying this change, so as not to disturb the stability of the children. While raising the child as a single mother, what you say remains. In this sense, they do not have to consult their partners and dealing with the possibility of a negative response. Marriages have distributive authority while single parenthood offers absolute authority (Santiago, 2018). Another strength of being a single mum is the ability to protect your children against common spousal conflicts and arguments. Most spousal conflicts often result in emotional challenges to both parents and children which impact negatively on future development. Single parenthood creates a conducive environment for the healthy psychological development of the child. Single parenthood also guarantees a person full autonomy on what they consider essential. The freedom to do what one pleases is almost priceless.

Conclusion

After helping the patient understand the advantages of being a single mother, she would be likely to pass on that information to critics of her life choices. Much of the criticism from friends and family is precipitated by ignorance or lack of relevant facts. Education would, therefore, be essential in demystifying single parenthood. If the people around her understood her situation and choices, they would most likely embrace her or respect and support them.
