Home Health Company has been facing communication challenges. Various activities require effective communication such as setting expectations; employees voicing their concerns, or employees collaborating to solve a problem. Communication challenges in an organization are due to the absence of adequate ways of establishing the efficiency of communication (Neely and Mosley 2018). Perception of employees is a critical determinant of effective communication. There is an assumption by the management concerning their effective dissemination of information to the workforce. This is not always the case since employees often voice their discontent on how the management communicate information. This has been the challenge at Home Health Company.
A critical analysis of the communication challenge at Home Health Company is important in enabling the development and recommendation of an appropriate solution. This analysis is based on two theories of communication in an organization which include Information Theory and Groupware Theory. Information theory describes how information in an organization is collected, utilized and managed (Ali et al., 2015). It is concerned with the dissemination of information with minimal mistakes. I am examining communication at Home Health through the lens of information theory which emphasize on fixing information to prevent alteration of messages. Also, measures are established to ensure communication accuracy. This theory can be applied to Home Health to ensure accurate flow of information. Groupware theory, on the other hand, explains that traditional communication can change along with the great advancement in technology (Zykov and Pogodayev, 2006). Communication can be accomplished through computers and mobile devices to ensure an effective spread of information in an organization. In Home Health, technology can be employed to ensure fast and accurate communication.
Effective communication cannot be understated in an organization. It helps in the dissemination of information which is critical in the development of products and services. In Home Health, communication has been a challenge. Due to important of communication in an organization an immediate solution is necessary. Cisco Jabber will be implemented to improve communication effectiveness. First, Cisco Jabber will be installed in all work computers. The next step will be training employees on how to use Cisco Jabber capabilities. It avails several options all which promote effective communication. It integrates the presence of information, web conferencing, instant messaging, desktop sharing, and video communication among others. It provides an appropriate platform for enhanced communication since management and employees can easily connect. It streamlines communication since employees can be found at the right time for collaboration. It can be concluded that Cisco Jabber is the most appropriate solution.
In the world of business, change is inevitable. The implementation of Cisco Jabber at Human Health Company will potentially alter employee behavior which can result in possible criticism. It is important that the implementation of technology gains acceptance at the staff level. For instance, criticism can emerge from employees who are intimidated and feel they are content with the way things work (Delaney & D'Agostino 2015). This is because the implementation of Cisco Jabber can mean alterations of job responsibilities, additional training or increased workload among others. It is important for an organization to address criticism during the implementation of new technology. Home Health should ensure that there is a plan in place to enable successful implementation. For instance, it ensure the presence of visionary leadership, identifies sources of resistance, creates a comprehensive implementation plan and involves employees (Delaney & D'Agostino 2015). This would help prevent resistance to change.
Conclusion
In conclusion, it important to underscore the need for effective communication in an organization. It helps in the flow of information which is essential in the development of products and services. Home Health Company has been facing challenges due to a lack of effective communication. To address the problem, Cisco Jabber is recommended to promote the dissemination of information among the employees. It will provide services such as instant messaging, desktop sharing, voice messaging and video conferencing among others.
