Introduction

Excellent management skills are essential for the growth of a business. Because, managers are the core leaders of all other stakeholders in an organization, having various leadership skills, may make it easier for a company to compete and achieve its goals with lots of ease. The following are examples of the qualities and skills that a right manager should have;

Respect for the employees. Managers should always be informed enough and have time to get feedback from the employees regarding the overall score of the organization's performance. Respecting their ideas can also help a manager to make innovations and inventions, thus improving the general performance (Ali & Camp, 1996). Besides, it also helps in boosting the employee's morale of work, increasing the chances of harvesting colossal output. Additionally, having respect may mean that, a manager should be able to ask his employees for forgiveness in case, he does something in reverse to the expectations, to does an absolute fault in the business, just like other employees are mandated to do, whenever they cause problems. This will not only motivate the workers but also will, help in building trust and honesty with the leader.

Confidence. An effective manager should also be confident enough while undertaking his/her duties in the management role. For example, a confident manager will act as an inspiration to other employees by making congruent decisions using the field experience obtained. However, being confident must not be compared to being arrogant (Katz, 2009). The manger must still work together with the employees in a humble background, to make confident decisions for smooth achievement of goals.

Delegation. Managers should have a piece of excellent knowledge on the various ways of delegating duties among employees, to complete tasks within the average shortest time possible. Similarly, there are some other duties that a manager may be obligated to do but die to one or two reasons, fails because of maybe a busy schedule. In such scenarios, a manger should apply his skills on leadership to effectively communicate with other employees who are capable of performing the task, of doing it, and give rewards afterward as a motivation tool.

Reliability. Good mangers should be reliable at most of the times in the organization, to be able to handle any faults, quarrels, or questions within the organization. In the processor running the regular duties, there may reach a stage that requires knowledge that no worker is having (Katz, 2009). At such occasion, consultations may be made very fast to ensure that the activities run as usual. Being reliable also means that a manager must make all the necessary equipment and tools needed for management available, at all times, to prevent any occurrences of faults.

Time management. Time management is another critical player for a successful business organization. For instance, if a manager is always late to report in the company, then consequently, other employees may assume that it is just right to be late, and the reverse is true. As a matter of fact, a manager must then ensure that, they become the role models of their businesses by keeping time, and other workers will follow the same, as they may have fear that, failure to report, and do duties in time may lead to loss of a job (DuBois et al., 2015). Moreover, managers should have a plan of how-to, and who should handle a particular activity for a given specified time through the week, to avoid confusions and ignorance by other lazy workers.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the discussed qualities are the most important attributes that a manager should possess in any organization, to achieve success. Extreme knowledge of leadership roles, excellent communication skills are other minor attributes that a manager should also hold.
