Ford Mustang is originally an American car model that was originally manufactured by Ford. Historically, the car model that was based on the second generation North American Ford Falcon platform comprised of a two seater. However, in the year 1963, there was the introduction of Mustang II which was a conceptual car with four-seater. As a matter of fact, the car was produced with the main reason being protesting on how public can get interest in the first production of the car line. The ideology behind the creation of this model of cars was from the vision that Lee Lacocca who was the vice president and the general manager of the Ford division during the 1961 had.
The car model was later rolled off the assembly line on March 9, 1964 which was around eighteen months since Mustang had received official approval for production. As a strategy for reducing the production cost of the car, most of the components of Mustang were borrowed from falcon which included the drive train. Most importantly, due to the difference in the interior, exterior and drive train options the car was in a position of being ordered as plain, fancy, economical and fast that is according to the buyer's preference. Generally, the design was meant to target everyone.
Before its release, the car was introduced into the market with great advertising. On top of these the company (Ford) had ran simultaneous commercials on the major television networks which included ABC, NBC and the CBS. Consequently, a huge number of individuals thronged the various showrooms of the company with each of the individual wanting to be the first one to own the car. As a result of this, the Ford Company managed to sell 22,000 Mustang's during the first day. Their annual turnover was estimated to be 263,434 cars. As time went by the company continued releasing more and more models of the car which came out in six phases that is the first generation, the second generation, the third generation, the fourth generation, the fifth generation and the sixth generation.

The vision involved the general manager's thought of a car that would accommodate four people with bucket seats and shifter mounted floor. Furthermore, it was a requirement that the car should not exceed 180 inches long with a general weight of less than 2500 pounds. As for the cost, the car was to sell less than two thousand, five hundred dollars. As a result of the manifestation of this vision into reality, Ford Mustang was born. In the year 1962, Mustang successfully got funding after several months of meetings, discussions and market surveys.

Ford Mustang is a classic American icon. It is a muscle car that has its origins in the 1950s and has all the best that the Ford Motor Company has to offer in a compelling and stylish vehicle. People who purchase Mustangs have the option of selecting from three different engine configurations as well as body and styling features. These will enable the company to sell the vehicle at various prices starting with the base model.
As standard, the new car comes with leather seats, climate control and a 5.5-liter gasoline engine. However, the customers can select to buy different engines based on their power output and fuel consumption. For those who focus on performance, they can purchase the supercharged model. However, at its heart the Mustang is a grand tourer, meaning that it is a vehicle intended to travel long distances, such as journeys that span several countries or across a continent

The market for Ford Mustang is segmented of divided according to various factors this include demography, geography, psychography and behavior. To commence with demography it is the classification of a specific population of people according to factors such as age, gender, the income they earn, ethnic backgrounds, religion and the family life cycles. On the other hand geography refers to nations, regions, states, countries, languages and cities. As for the psychography it deals with personality, values, personal interests, attitudes and lifestyles. Finally, behavior entails knowledge about something, attitude towards something, the rate of using a particular thing and individual response to a particular product. During the manufacturing and designing of car models such as the Ford Mustang, the Ford Company ensures that it understands and describes the target market in terms of its segmentation

The Ford Mustang offers most of the features that come standard on contemporary sports cars. For example, the vehicle has carbon fiber body panels that help keep down the weight so as to increase the power output per ton. The value that the customer gets after purchasing the Mustang is that they get most of the features of a sports car and the iconic Mustang badge at only a fraction of the price they would pay for European models such as Maserati, Mercedes, Porsche and BMW among others.
Some of the secondary benefits of owning a new Mustang is that spare parts are cheap due to the popularity of the vehicle. This also means that getting mechanics who know how to mend the vehicle is easy, and one does not have to pay lots of money to visit the dealer. Unlike other muscle cars and vehicles that claim to offer the same level of utility, the Mustang does not depreciate rapidly, meaning that one recovers most of the value of the car in cash even in its used state

The Eco boost Mustang actually nets about 30 miles per gallon compared to the Mustang GT which nets about 18 miles per gallon if your foot is not on the floor board all the time. The Eco boost also burns fuel more efficiently and a little cleaner which should appeal to the European market. Ford is also headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan. Consumers may feel the Mustang is new to them and they may not feel it is ready to see the global market; however there are also those who have wished that the Mustang will one day hit global sales. Ford has been selling cars overseas for a long time, so they know the new Mustang should fare very well in the global market.
Now we come to talk about the four P's; product, place, price, promotion. The product is the 2015 Ford Mustang, no doubt about it. Three engine models, new body styling, all around better interior, and the independent rear suspension that everyone loves. The places that will be selling these Ford Mustangs are of course, here in the states, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Singapore, China, the Middle East, England, Germany, and many other European countries. The prices for the Mustangs will not break your bank. The lowest models can be had for around twenty six thousand dollars stateside, with a ten thousand dollar mark up overseas. The GT can be had for thirty two thousand dollars which is doable. The BMW M3/M4, you are looking to spend at least seventy thousand dollars. The promotions for these vehicles have been very entertaining. You have performance commercials that show the power these Mustangs can do, then you have commercials that show a day at the beach, then a drive on a scenic route. It is a car everyone can enjoy. Also for the 2015 Mustang, when it went global, it did so on the same day in various different cities around the world. Ford Motor Co. was to reveal the 2015 Mustang Thursday morning at events in New York, Los Angeles, Shanghai, Sydney, Barcelona and its hometown of Dearborn. It goes on sale next fall in North America and will arrive later in Europe and Asia. (Fox News, 2013).
Ethical marketing is something that all companies will need to look at when they want to put their product out there. For the Mustang, one would be how clean and efficient you can make it burn. The consumers overseas really care a lot about what goes into the atmosphere. Being able to get a more "green" burning car is a plus for markets overseas. If the cars burned greener stateside, you actually get a "gas" tax deduction right off the sticker price. This is also one reason why the Eco boost Mustangs were built. Out of the three Mustangs it is the cleanest burning vehicle and you get the same styling. Another thing consumers might like is E-85 gasoline. It is cheap, but here in the states not a lot of gas stations have them. They are cleaner fuel based off of corn. The plus side to E-85 is also that the octane levels are higher than what you can get on the pump. California's highest grade is 91 octane, whereas in the East coast and Mid-West states have 93 octane. E-85 is about somewhere between 105-110 octane. This in turn creates more horsepower as well as cleaner burning fuel which also burn cooler. It is a win-win situation; however E-85 is not popular because the amount of times you would have to fill up in the end will make the cost of E-85 cost just as much as regular gasoline. You can say it is not very convenient to use E-85. Another thing Ford looked at when designing the Mustang was how their consumer's perspective was of the design. They actually looked at it from a global stand point and designed it around their overseas consumers. When the design came out, I bet everyone overseas loved the car; however a lot of Americans disliked how it looked because they believed it was not as muscular as it should be anymore. Many of us do think that it still has the muscle to the American muscle name still. This is just the beginning of the first year new redesigned Mustang, through time there will be development changes and improvements throughout the years. New innovated technology will be integrated into the new Mustang. It is only the beginning of the year and Ford has already created a new upgraded SYNC system set to be released with the 2016 model Mustangs.
The 2015 Mustang is not the end all of all Mustangs, this is the beginning of modern technology fit into a classic design. Ford has done a great job with this vehicle inside and out and with the power plants running these cars and Ford is just beginning. There is a lot more potential for the car and for the market. The market is there for these cars globally and it is affordable and enjoyable for everyone.
