My name is William Clay and I will be you're Front Desk supervisor, the first contact with both internal and external clients. Even though I'm here to support the front desk team, as a supervisor am here to ensure that all the client needs are met, and that you enjoy their visit. Therefore, the job demands high etiquette and good communication skills as well as a good understanding of the organizational goal and services. Having been a coach and a basketball player for over 20 years, I have interacted with people from all walks of the world which has helped me master the art of communication, trust, and accountability. The above are key qualities for a successful career which have enabled me to be successful in the workforce and playing professional basketball.
My expectations are daily nuggets which becomes gems in time if everyone does their part and is always a team player. My expectations are as follows:
- Always keep time in terms of arrival.
- Embrace teamwork
- Report when you are late
I value time so much, and that's why showing up early to work has always been a religion to me. Reporting to work early allows you to have ample time to plan for the daily activities as well as finish on pending tasks. Taking your lunch brakes on the stipulated time allows others to enjoy their breaks as part of the consideration for others welfare and being. Hygiene in the workplace is vital, and that's why one should make it their mandate to keep their work area neat and tidy. Not taking food in your workspace promotes hygiene as well as reduces the chance of damage through spillage.
A system deviation form is important as It allows one to report they are going to be late, the reasons they will be late and when they will be arriving at work. It will help you explain how you are going to make up for lost time. The form will facilitate the supervisor to make decisions on how to plan for the day.
During down times, it is important to make good use of time by keeping yourself busy. Helping out others in the workplace is crucial since it builds friendship while at the same time improving teamwork which is something I learned from my experience as a coach. When you are a coach for over 20 years, you appreciate the value of teamwork, building trust and maintaining good communication with your players which is paramount to the success of a team. Basketball has taught me the essence of teamwork and being a team player as well as motivating people to achieve by maximizing your potential.
My motto has always been hard work pays and indeed I have reaped the fruits of hard work and boy they taste good. Part of this success has been achieved by embracing teamwork and team spirit. Accepting other people's mistakes and motivating them to become better is vital for a successful team. I wish you all the best of luck.
