Just like the tip of the iceberg, most of the activities of the corporate social responsibilities are invisible. Corporate social responsibility is actually supposed to be on a win-win basis in a manner that as well as the companies make their own profits, the society should also benefit. Moreover, the corporate responsibility stunts have been cunningly manipulated by these international institutions to divert focus from pertinent issues in the society and instead made to assist them avoid legal bottlenecks, increase their legitimate existence and ensure smooth access to the markets and policy makers. These ulterior motives succeed in creating non-viable solutions to the prevailing environmental and societal challenges. The multinationals use such methods to gain sustainable cost effective remedies for themselves rather than the consumers of their products. Most of these companies have from time to time managed to cover up their own major shortcomings with profit driven charity works in the name of corporate relations (Fung, 2015).

Conclusion

Most of the transnational corporations are vicious just for their profits and they would do just about anything, just to become known and increase on their sales. Even though some of the corporations try to fulfill their social responsibility, it is only due to the fact that at the end of the day, what really matters is their profits. It is evident that corporate multinationals have failed to live up to their corporate responsibilities and focused on profit driven motives. Their involvement in charity activities and other sponsorship deals are aimed at increasing their branding and market bases in order to drive up their profits. Whenever regulations are put up to protect the society against the negative effects of their corporate relations, they gang up with other lobbying groups to prevent the development and prevalence of such regulations and policies. There is no single corporation that has been able to effectively fulfill its social responsibility towards the society. On that note, it is evident to say that transnational corporations are all about profit at the expense of social responsibility.
