There are many recipes used to make it. However, below is one of the most common recipes. At the end of the guide, you will end up with a healthy and delicious dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 large onion, chopped 3 medium tomatoes, finely diced cup of olive oil or cooking oil 2 tsp of salt
  • 1 small piece of cinnamon 1 small piece of black lemon
  • finely diced green bell pepper 4 tablespoons of tomato paste
  • 4 cups of hot water. 1 small size garlic
  • Half a chicken weighing between 400-500 grams (1 lb.) 2 cups of rice (130 g or 4.5 oz) 2 teaspoon of black pepper * I will use the basmati rice.
  • 2 teaspoon of cumin 2 teaspoons of turmeric 2 teaspoons of curry
  • 2 pieces of cardamons cut into small pieces*avoid putting too much of the spices because the food will be too tasty

Kitchen Equipment

  1. Pot with lid (3 to 4 litters or 21-25 cm)
  2. Knife ( Santoku knife )
  3. Cutting board
  4. Wooden spoon
  5. Tongs- to take off the chicken from the pot
  6. Ladle
  7. Teaspoon and tablespoon
  8. Measurement cup
  9. Can opener
  10. Kettle
  11. Bowls
  12. Glass bowls

Directions and Steps

Organize the ingredients and confirm you have each and every needed ingredient in the right amount.

Put the pot on the stove.

Start the stove and set it to a temperature of 275 degrees Celsius.

Pour of the oil into the pot then heat

While waiting for the oil to be hot, take the cutting board and knife and start chopping the onion.

Shave off the squiggly hair at the root end.

Slice on the opposite end.

Cut the onion into half from the root to the end.

Peel off the skin.

Start chopping the onion.

Put the chopped onion into the pot with heated oil.

Wait for the onion to cook for 5 to 7 minutes.

Note: The onion will be ready when it begins to turn golden brown. Do not let them burn

While you are waiting for the onion to cook, do the following:

Wash and clean the chicken.

Pour 4 cups of water into the kettle

Once the onion is cooked

Put 1 small piece of cinnamon. Cinnamon is added to the onion, so as to give a nice aroma to the chicken when you put it together with the oil.

Put 2 small pieces of cardamons.

Using the tongs, put the already cleaned chicken into the pot and stir everything together.

Add maximum 3 teaspoons of the each of the remaining spices to the chicken.

Add 2 teaspoons of salt and the black pepper

Finally, add about 3 cups of water to the contents of the pot

Make sure you put enough water to cover the chicken.

Now while using the can opener, open the tomato paste and add about 4 tablespoons to the pot.

Mix everything together and stir well

Decrease the heat to the medium range

Using the cutting board you used to cut the onion, slice 3 tomatoes and a quarter of the bell green pepper.

Put the chopped tomatoes and green pepper into the pot.

Close the pot, and set the timer to 40 minutes.a. Make sure that the temperature of the oven is set to 275 degrees

While waiting for the food to cook - an estimated cooking time of 40 minutes:

Prepare the rice.

Clean the Kitchen

Make sure to check the level of water while the chicken is cooking. Furthermore, add water between a to a cup in case more is needed

For rice start by putting 2 cups of rice or 130g of rice in the bowl:

Wash the rice until the water is clean.

Set the bowl of rice with water. This way the rice will become lean.

Do not forget to check on the chicken.

Keep opening the lid and checking. This should be done with utmost care because the lid is hot. Kitchen towels should be used

Once it is ready, switch of the source of fire and put the chicken aside. Once it has cooled, put it in a glass bowl.

Pour any excess water that might have been left. Put the glass bowl in an oven to bake.

Start baking on low heat.

Approximate baking time of chicken is 15 minutes

Shift attention to the rice now. Reduce the amount of water from the rice.

Put the rice into the pot and mix it with the aforementioned ingredients in that pot.

Make sure the broth that is in the pot ranges between the colors red, orange or even brown.

You can add food color if you want to make it redder.

Close the lid of the pot and let it heat for 5 minutes

Decrease that heat and let the rice cook for 15 minutes

After 15 minutes, take out the chicken carefully. Be careful because it is hot.

The rice should be done by then.

Turn off all the heating elements.
