Introduction

Patients who have HIV/AIDS, elderly populations, children and people with disabilities are some of the vulnerable people in the society, and there are implemented policies to protect each of the group in our hospital. The policies form the basis of excellent services they should receive like any other patient in the hospital. The elimination of discrimination, developments of national norms as well as appropriate communication strategies within the healthcare system are some of the underlying effect implemented policies offers to the vulnerable population within the hospital. Under people with disability especially those with impaired decision-making ability, implemented policy offer them rights that mainly focus at improving their services right from various processes or procedures which include safeguarding patients and time-frame when dealing with voluntary and involuntary mental health population. People with HIV/AIDS also have got specific underlined policies that offer them equal chances to services like any other patient thus preventing discrimination. The health care policy on mental health. The hospital covers a series of policies that govern the vulnerable population especially those patients with mental health disabilities in the hospital. The policies ensure that mental health patients be provided with treatment like any other patient and more so with care and rehabilitation (De Chesnay & Anderson 2019). The service should be ideal and specific to the condition depending on the patient's condition. The policy on the healthcare also seeks to improve the possible ways of informing the mental health subjects of their mental status before practicing any service and the policy demand the healthcare providers should do it in the right and a specific way.

Policy on Basic Care (older people). The hospital has come up with policies that check into older people as they are part of the vulnerable population in the hospital. The policy in the hospital forms the right procedure of handling older people in a healthcare facility. One of the policy is a policy on the primary healthcare, which covers mental, physical and social as well as the material care of the patient in the hospital (Linton, Kennedy & Shapiro 2018). The system unveils relevant procedures that seek to safeguard the older population in the hospital by continuing to provide appropriate services. The policy also protects patients from any form of discrimination either direct or indirect to the aged people who are the vulnerable population within the society. The hospital has got several underlined services that enable healthcare providers' reduce the infant mortality rate, and some of the services include access to clean water. There is also another part that the policy that deals with immunization of infectious diseases of infants within the hospital.

To sum up, children, older people, and mental health patients are some of the vulnerable population within society. Our hospital has got implemented policies that ensure the proper delivery of services to these designated groups of a vulnerable population. The mental health group policy provides treatment, care, and rehabilitation. Policy on children revolves around reducing infant mortality rates within the hospital.
