Introduction

When you go through this piece of literature, most definitely the theme of this production is trust. It is evident that through trust Maud had to her sister up to the extent of allowing her to stay with them under one roof. It is also through this trust that Beth trusted a man and gave her heart out to fall in love with him. It is through the theme of trust that centers stage for Mark also doesn't know what he wants. He is so greedy and guided by lust and not true love but a pure betrayal of Maud by Mark who he had trusted so much.

It is pretty sure that the feeling of the entire play following the theme of trust. It is through mistrust that the feeling of conflict arose within its characters in so many of its scenes. The feeling of this play in most instances is glazed with a feeling of conflict and uncertainty. It is through the theme of trust that conflict depicted in the play arose between all the characters. The lady was so innocent and could not expect her sister to betray her but was shocked when she learned of their affairs, and I think she will learn to be more cautious about relationships and trust. I can attest that conflict also adds an element of controversy and surprise. The play too had the metaphoric aspect in most of its scenes. The play can define and create a balanced situation that forms scenes with strong climatic sceneries that are essential to coming up with a good play. The balanced situation describes how most things are foretold at the beginning of the play, forecasting of any potential disturbances or conflicts that shifts the play's mood and tone. The balanced situation is evident when character Maud arrives at her home to significant other building of Mark in some plane. She doesn't want to alight, but instead, she claims that she wants a job. In the first occasion, she didn't want a job but rather worried about her partner's comfort as he goes around working on the planes. Joe used wing Mark, to symbolize the couples flying away from the room to avoid tearing apart, it also said that the wing filled up the place, meaning Beth's presents which were a hard decision to stop providing for her and provide for mark alone. "The topic two eclairs" symbolizes Maud and Beth, they are sisters and in love with Mark

As I sit down and analyze this play, it centers mostly on the feeling of pain and anguish. It is all about love and feeling betrayed. It is through the theme of trusting one character that leads to the blossom of love and hurt. There was a love triangle among the characters. The relationship between Mark and Beth was hidden until one day when Maude came home with a pair of eclairs. She kissed mark and gave him one of the couples expecting a celebration mood for her decision on getting Beth out of the house. The situation ended in a mess since mark became guilty and could not stand the decision made, he defended Beth saying she is too young to stay alone and revealed how Beth loves him. Beth walked in, kissed both of them as mark hands her an eclair, the pairs ended up belonging to mark and Beth. Earlier own it was said that Beth removed eclairs from inside a box and shared it with mark accompanying the situation with a smile.

The characters' conflict is the driving force behind the theme and tone of this play. The characters' incapability to trust one another especially after betrayal is evident in their relationships led to a somber mood of uncertainty. Change of emotions among different characters can allude to mistrust and shift in mood and tone in the play. Under this excerpt, "(BETH opens the bakery box and pulls out an eclair, sits and starts eating it. The eclairs may be a little larger than usual. Suddenly she giggles with a mouthful, offering the other eclair in the box to MARK. MARK stares, outraged. BETHS smiles evolve quickly to a bland sadness, and the mood goes straight to Hell...)" depicts an aspect of care towards Maud. After this part, the mood suddenly changes and most of us are left carousing of the aftermath a break up that is horrible. Thus, the message and theme of the play were developed from the conflicts that arose amongst the characters.

Conclusion

It is apparent that it's within the play's characters that are intensely focused, and their emotions are highlighted to growing rift and tension inside the room. The intense tension overwhelming split amongst themselves that concedes with the theme of the play of trust. From scene to scene, character to character if acclimatized with conflict, mistrust can be the order of the day hence leading to abusive relationships amongst the characters.
