This article is a combined effort from three authors: Jennifer Whyte, Angelos Stasis, and Carmel Lindkvist. They are qualified individuals and the qualifications they hold show that they possess valuable knowledge when it comes to this particular field. Angelos Stasis works as a research engineer at the University of Reading. Jennifer Whyte works at the University of Reading too. She is one of the professors of innovation and design in the school of construction management and engineering. Carmel Lindkvist recently concluded a research on innovation and design at the University of Reading. On the other hand, she holds a postgraduate research position at Norwegian University of Science and Technology in the department of architecture.
The Title critique
Titles are important in research as they introduce the content of the paper as well as capture the interest of the audience. A Title should be informative for it to provide a general knowledge about the research. The title of the journal: Managing change in the delivery of complex projects: Configuration management, asset information and big data by Jennifer Whyte, Angelos Stasis and Camel Lindkvist (Whyte, Stasis & Lindkvist 2016). This title is accurate and clear, and an audience gets a clear picture about the details of the research. The aim of the research is explicitly stated including the areas that the researcher will address.
Critique on the Abstract
An abstract contains the summary of the details of the article or paper. It is an important section as it sums up the whole article for the reader. The abstract of this research does not meet the standards of a research abstract. It provides vague information about the research in whole. This summary only contains information about the research problem and the research in general. It is not clear as it lacks to provide information about the sample of the study, the methodology, recommendations, and findings.
Critique on the Introduction
Introductions act as opening clauses to the research article, as it introduces the topic in deeper details. The article begins by stating the importance of digital technology in project delivery (Whyte, Stasis & Lindkvist 2016). The introduction is clear and detailed enough for an audience to understand the scope of the study. It talks about the title of the research, what the authors want to touch on as their study material and the aim of the research in detail and the organizations they seek to analyze the research. Through the introduction, the authors define some of the terms that will be used throughout the research. However, the introduction is quite long. Introductions are supposed to be short and straight to the point. Despite the fact that the authors mentioned the necessary information in the presentation, they made it too long by adding some information that was irrelevant. The authors state that the topic is important as they seek to analyze how the era of big data has brought changes in the management of complex project delivery.
Critique on the Relevance of the Topic
Research authors need to inform the readers the particular reason why they settled for a particular subject. Is the question relevant? And why is it important to discuss that issue? The introduction details the importance and relevance of the subject chosen. The authors talk about digital technology and how it has transformed the state of project delivery. The introduction says that through technology information used in decision making for managing complex plans has evolved and is now stored up and created digitally (Whyte, Stasis & Lindkvist 2016).
Critique of the Elements that Influence the Strength of the Research
Purpose of Research and Problem Statement
The goal of this research is clearly identified and demonstrated. The authors have outlined the objectives of the study to articulate their main aims.
Problem Statement
The problem statement is a declaration clause that justifies the importance of the research and the problem that led to the research being carried out. The problem statement of this research is clear and well defined. However, it has been incorporated in the introduction section. The authors need to separate the objectives and the problem statement from the introduction section.
Critique on the Literature Review
The literature review is a section that contains the works of various studies from different researchers about the topic of discussion. It includes previous research works and the critique about the relevance of the survey to the problem and the areas they failed to cover concerning the matter. The literature review section ends by adding what the study will address that has not been addressed by past researchers. The literature review in this study has a logical flow. On the other hand, the authors of this study have provided a mixture of studies from the past and the present. It lacks empirical literature and utilizes primary sources as its main source of information for the review. The literature review contains studies from as long as 1978 as a source.
Research Questions Critique
Research should contain a question that the discussion should answer. However, this study lacks a research question. It is hard for the audience to know what the question the study seeks to answer.
Critique of the Methodology
The methodology section in a research paper is significant as it highlights the method the researchers used to get their results and findings. The method mentions how the study was developed and the instruments used for gathering information. In this study, the research design is identified, and data gathering method clearly describe. Conversely, the authors failed to conduct the pilot study and the validity testing.
Sample
The sample study represents the target population for the research. Research needs to identify its target population and explain how the sample was selected. This research article fails to mention the target population but later state that they used a case study methodology for their research. The authors also say that they conducted interviews with two people from the CAD department.
Critique of the findings
Results are usually discussed following the methodology sections. The results of research can link or fail to mirror the information in the literature review. The results of this study related the information discussed in the literature review as well as supported the information on the hypothesis section. This research article fails to mention the strengths and limitations they encountered while conducting the study. It also lacks the recommendations section that points out areas for further research.

The research provides a critical overview of the particular subject under study and also reviews the literature to provide a broader understanding of the field of study. The authors have included the methods of conducting research and the findings.
Critique of the Conclusion and the References
The outcome of this investigation has summarized the main points discussed in the study. However, the authors include the recommendations and challenges they faced during the survey in the conclusion part. The references used in the study were properly referenced and had a link to the topic of discussion.
In conclusion, this research paper is well written and provides relevant information for the reader. The authors are professionals who demonstrate a rich understanding in the field of research.
