Mangoes bear Mangifera indica as their scientific name, they are round and sometimes oval depending on their type. Their color and shape vary depending on the level of their ripeness. For instance, unripe mangoes are mostly green and cream inside while ripe mangoes might be green, red or even orange, but their inside color is yellow. Mangoes are sweet, and they come in different varieties namely Alphonso, Valencia pride, Badami, caunsa, Nam Dok Mai, Glenn, Sindhiri, kesar, and keitt.

Pawpaws are round or oval in shape, their shapes vary depending on the type of pawpaw, and their scientific name is Carica papaya. Sometimes the name papaya is not used in some English, for instance, the American English which uses the word pawpaw. Their color could either be orange or yellow but fleshy and succulent part is always orange in color. The taste of papaw might vary between sweet and luscious. The Pawpaw fruit comes in different varieties which include Coorg honeydew, pusa dwarf, pusa giant, pusa majesty, pusa delicious and solo.

Mangoes can be consumed with or without peels while pawpaw can only be consumed after the removal of the pericarp, which is mostly bitter in taste. However, the pawpaw peels can be rubbed on the face to reduce wrinkles and to whiten the face, due to papain enzymes present in the outer layer. Mangoes are nutritious and contain both vitamin B and vitamin C which are used as a protection mechanism, improve vision, skin health and immune system health. They also help in digestions since they prevent constipation by their significant amount of fiber. Mangoes contain 168 mg of potassium and 83g water contents which make it one of the juiciest fruits available. They also contain citric and ascorbic acid which are essential in the wound healing processes. A single peeled mango contains 200 calories which are 10 percent of calories required by most adults to carry out their routine activities. On the other hand, the pawpaw is also nutritious; they provide men with 27 percent of magnesium, minerals vital for their reproductive health. Similarly, for women, they provide 35 percent of magnesium, which is essential in the management of the post-menstrual migraines. They also contain some percentage of copper and potassium and 67 calories. Pawpaws are rich in vitamin A and vitamin B-1, their seeds can be used to treat stomachache and ring worms infection. Pawpaw contains a few acids unlike mangoes, but papain enzymes are present.

Mangoes grow during summer and spring seasons while pawpaw can be favored by any season. While mangoes require clay, loam or sand soil, pawpaw grows well in rocky, sandy and well-drained soil. Mangoes contain one large flat and hard seed while pawpaw contains many tiny black seeds which can be easily removed.

In conclusion, both fruits are nutritious and play a vital role in human health, they both grow in humid and warm climate, and they are easily accessible. Mangoes originated from southern Asia while pawpaw originated from Mexico and Central America. Mangoes play a significant role in digestion while pawpaw can be used for skin treatment.
