Introduction
Pablo Picasso and Maya Angelou are arguably the most significant artist and writer. Their work has been an inspiration to many people giving them the confidence to believe in their talents. They left behind an excellent work that is being studied and taught many times. Their work is considered classics in the art and literature world; this is because Pablo Picasso was a great actor wile Maya Angelou was a great writer among other things. Their work represents many similarities and differences that will be discussed in this paper. They touched and changed many people lives using different techniques, and their legacy will always be remembered.
Both Maya and Picasso are famous were people in their life. Maya is a famous writer who is spent most of her life in America where she was famous. She interacted with famous people like Obama and Clinton in her life. Pablo is also a famous Spanish artist and a poet who spent most of his life in France with fame and wealth. Pablo experiences with women helped to shape his artwork. He drew a painting of dropping heads of women which was inspired by his affairs with young women. Picasso was also fascinated by acrobat's clown which inspired him to start painting in subtle pink and grey color. Her life experience inspired Maya because while she was young, she was subjected to racism, rape, grief and emotional distress which helped to shape his writing career (Angelou, M. (1999). Maya wrote poems to encourage and advise women even though the oppression one is going through. She faced many conflicts for being a black woman who at that time was a significant issue. In Maya's time, women could not do specific jobs like conducting or directing, but Maya fought this conflict and won.
Pablo picas and Maya Angelou had different lives. Picasso was brought up in Spain where he was taught by his father who was a teacher how to draw. He later studied in Madrid and Barcelona (Swami, V. (2013). His entire life was okay since he was surrounded by a great and beautiful thing which inspired his work. He was famously known for his charismatic personality and many relationships with women. Maya's life was a bit different because she was born in St. Louis. Her parent's divorced while she was young forcing her to live with a grandmother. When she was eight years, Maya was raped and later experienced a death scare which left her mute for five years. Maya life was full of struggles were at one time she had to work as a waitress, dancer and a prostitute in night clubs. Other than that Maya has also experienced dehumanization and racism most of her life leaving her emotionally depressed. They both lived a completely different life, but each life experience helped them in their carrier. The conflict faced acted as an inspiration for their work.
Although Maya was an author and Picasso was an artist their work had a lot of similarities. Picasso painted and sculptured art in the shape of women which acted as a representation of women power. Maya was a famous writer who used her platform to mostly educated and advice women. This showed that both of their work revolved and praised women. Both Picasso and Maya wrote poems in their line of work. Maya Angelou work represented the theme of racism, identity, and family which empowered many people in their struggles. She wanted to give the people who were facing the challenges as she faced hope and to show them how to fight it. In Maya's work, she gave lessons about resisting racism oppression which changed many blacks life. Picasso also wrote quotes that inspired and changed the face of European painting (Green, & Picasso, 2005. Through his art, he was able to change many people view on art image since he was the most dominant and influential artist
There is a difference between Maya and Picasso work. Picasso artistic work represented a range of styles which astonished many people making him respected. His work was to change the norm of painting and sculpture while stimulating contemporary architecture. Picasso work built a foundation for cubism in France and inspired many offshoots to like the styles of futurism. Maya Angelou work inspired people differently. It changed many black-white relationships and gave hope to the hopeless. She wrote about freedom when she wrote the caged bird which was as a symbolism Angelou, M. (1999). Maya's work characterized black women in America who were struggling to fit in. Their character was similar to the struggles that Maya went through. Maya work also characterized her relationship with her parents and with her son making a family theme an essential role in her books. Picasso work moved interchangeably among diverse styles and sometimes a single dominant method typically characterized it. His work revolutionized attitudes in many artists who were no ready to change their traditional way of presenting art.
Both Maya and Picasso work have sent an important message. Maya work sent the message of identity which advised many women on how to find their status in the male-dominated society. Maya work was mostly helping the needy either emotional or physical. Her work also advised the people who have gone through abandonment in her book "caged bird." "All God's children need traveling shoes" send the message of traveling to African -American natives to explore their identity. Her work impacted the people who were dealing with challenges from a personal and historical past. Maya work changed much African American life during that time (Lisandrelli, 1996). She taught them how to fit in through the challenges like racism which was a significant problem. Picasso works mostly the message of changing the face of the art. He presented a different kind of painting which had unique modern styles which were an influence on many artists. He inspired the artist to have bohemian modern artist imagination. His work contributed to symbolism and surrealism to the artist society (Bois, 1998). Picasso taught other artists to paint art as they think of not as they see. He made a person's mind to be important as it always remembers things as they are. It became true since through this he was able to draw his multiple women as he remembers them resulting in fantastic art.
Conclusion
In conclusion, Maya Angelou and Pablo Picasso's work is a great inspiration to many people. It has touched many souls in different ways. Picasso's work changed the art world by introducing many other modern styles. Maya's work hanged many people personal life and gave them the power to identify their identity. It helped many African -Americans and taught them how to fight racism and to survive through challenges. For those reasons, they are legends t who their work is famous even today. Picasso art is found in many art galleries while Maya's work is in any book store. Their work changed and transformed many people, and it has to power to change lives even today. Picasso invested college which changed the world and made it abandon the idea of the picture in the wall. He presented different designs which will be influential for decades to come.
