Introduction

Healthcare managers have a moral and legal obligation of ensuring patients get high-quality care and strive to improve their current services Managers at the top position mandate procedures, systems and even the policies of the organizations. According to research, managers in healthcare poses an important role in ensuring patients are safe and get quality care which are the top priorities of managers in healthcare. From this, boards have delegated the responsibility of providing safety and quality outcomes.

Managers are involved in a wide range of quality and safety related activities and strategies.

My assessment of the organizations' board is as follows:

Webster Health System has 110 physicians where 39 of them are consulting physicians, and about 20 to 21 percent of these physicians are aged five years or older. This information is crucial because in the next 20 years Webster has the possibility of losing 20 percent of its employee physicians (Seidel, 2014). According to the medical staff president who mentions that some of the aged physicians looked quite uncomfortable with the speed of changes that the organizations medical staffed rolled out over the recent years. It is important to note that changes have to occur fast because of the dynamic needs of the community.

The medical staff president, Dr. Tarf also informed that the hospital needed to establish a robust medical presence especially outside Middleboro.to do this is quite possible, but it is very costly. From the previous case, we got to learn that there is a substantial increase in substance abuse and mental health in Hillsboro County. The board of American osteopathic hospitals suggested the development of more units in all hospitals affiliated with the treatment of substance abuse cases.

Webster Health System is affiliated with Osteopathic Medical Centre which is located in the capital city. The creation of an inpatient program of substance abuse would need the recruitment of physicians that have specialized in mental health, addiction and chemical dependency (Seidel, 2014). It would be an excellent idea for Webster Health System to collaborate with Middleboro Community Mental Health Center because they already have an existing agreement with them for the provision of inpatient emergency and psychiatric services.

The sale of Physical Care Services has been a subject of conversation shortly. The purchase of Physician care services will give leeway for jasper expansion and will also cover health services need and the need for ambulatory care services. Currently, Medicare addresses the ambulatory treatment of cancer. If Webster Health system purchases physician care services then they can choose to turn the beta or the alpha center to be an ambulatory Centre of specialized treatment. This could also lead to a decreased stay time for patients (in-patients) if they can seek treatment long before the conditions of their illnesses worsen leading to patient admittance in the hospital.

Organizations opt to use the contracting method of providing services since it is cheaper than the cost of the organization doing the job itself (King, 2008). I think contracting is not a cause of any damage to Webster Health Services. However, in my suggestion about using physician care services and the need for owning special ambulatory services I recommend the organization to use their group of specialized and trained physicians.

A strategy definition grows broader about the sensitivity of each health case. Sensitive health cases require a better and more profound level of health techniques which can be used to bring marginal improvement in the setting of health programs. According to the study, 99 percent of the reported deaths have been individuals aged above twenty-four years of age. The management can leverage competitive advantage from this issue. Webster healthcare system leverages its competitive advantage by being the only certified medical healthcare facility in Hillsboro County. The healthcare provider is also preparing for the incorporation of national management assessment standards by uniting with the joint commission on accreditation of health organizations. Through the joint venture, the healthcare institution can acquire leverage of referrals from its relationship with the board members of the mutual relationship.

Choosing the perfect health strategy is also integral to ensuring that the practices of workers in the community have been improved. For instance, a strategy where instead of only training workers in their stations, the workers are trained in their respective communities where they provide health support to those who might need help is a more effective strategy of training.

Training and supervision are still some of the most effective strategies to date. When training is combined with other strategies, it is quite more effective than training done in isolation. Some strategies that can be incorporated in training include things like solving problems as groups and supervision. Solving problems as groups have large effectiveness and have fewer side effects (King, 2008). For the case of Webster health systems strategies which target management techniques, infrastructure, combining groups to solve problems, supervision and training can prove to be effective. Financial incentives for the healthcare provider can prove to be quite modest in their effectiveness. According to research, governance and regulation strategies prove to have huge effects on healthcare performance - the two strategies although cannot be studied alone since these two strategies are dependent on other components like employee relationship and the quality of management to prove their effectiveness (King, 2008). In our case study, the health facility has a wide range of resources which means solving problems s groups, and supervision can be funded practices which can, in the long run, prove to be quite effective mostly in the handling of in-patients.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the retainment of extra organizational employees who work when needed can be a source of problems in the future since even though these employees are not maximally utilized, they still need to get paid. On another point of view, if they are not utilized problems that they have to fix will erupt. We have too much research supporting the fact that specific strategies are effective in boosting healthcare practices and quality (King, 2008). Strategy effectiveness though varies substantially, and some strategies prove to be more effective than others. Some strategies may also be suited to the particular environmental setting. Managers are encouraged to refer to the existing database information when making their decisions. The results from the research should help the managers and medical staff in making future decisions that may impact the quality of healthcare by the medical institution.
