Introduction
Prevention is all about avoiding diseases or infection before their starts to help prevent the possible spread. The three major distinct levels of prevention include primary prevention, secondary prevention and finally are secondary preventive mechanisms. The paper seeksto analyze the major three levels of prevention about diabetes, Lyme disease, and influenza.
Diabetes Three Levels of Prevention
Primary Prevention
The main aim of the primary preventive mechanisms is to help avoid the condition that does not already exist. The example involves moving away from the normoglycaemia condition to a normal- glucose level environment and any other relevant safe eating habits (Landgraf, 2014). It will be even more important to limit the number of soft drinks that a person consumes.
Secondary Prevention
The secondary prevention mechanism will rely on the early identification and intervention of the diabetes symptoms. The example of secondary prevention strategies will involve the screening and later is the intervention of individuals with dysglycaemia.
Tertiary Prevention
The tertiary preventive effort is highly preferable to individuals with the condition, especially when in the early stages and a hypothetically irreversible condition (Landgraf, 2014). The examples of the preventive mechanisms in the above mechanism should focus on the weight loss achieved by bariatric surgery or using the relevant drugs.
Lyme disease Three Levels Prevention
Primary Prevention
The primary preventive mechanism of the Lyme disease entails advising individuals to avoid visiting going to places already infested with ticks. Besides, when visiting the infested places, it is advisable to wear protective gadgets. One can also apply insecticide in the places with infection. Besides, it is essential to make the good use of Permethrin as a primary preventive mechanism to apply directly on the skin.
Primary Prevention
Primary prevention mechanism entails removal of the tick at approximately within thirty-six hours of the attachment. The next step entails at least an estimated 36 hours of attachment.
Tertiary Prevention
The treatment examples involve the use and the application of the appropriate antibiotics. Some of the most common antibiotics include amoxicillin, and doxycycline (CDC, 2018). Besides, other individuals with neurological may require intravenous preventive mechanisms.
Influenza Three Levels Prevention
Primary Prevention
One of the best primary preventive strategies for influenza is by the use of the flu vaccination. Vaccination will help in the possible prevention of flu viruses (CDC, 2018). The other primary preventive mechanism of influenza is avoiding contact with sick individuals who can enhance the possible risks of contracting the infection.
Secondary Prevention
Thorough screening is helpful to the victims to help the chances of the virus spread that can cause more harmful effects. The screening will help enhance viral resistance of the flu to enhance healthy living. It is also important to use the neuraminidase inhibitors that involve oseltamivir.
Tertiary Preventive Mechanisms
The examples of tertiary prevention strategies involve the use of the flu-antiviral drugs, especially when applied within the period of forty- eight hours from the infection time. It is also important to implement the use of fever reduction medicine as a preventive measure at the tertiary level.
