Introduction
The current society has increasingly displayed the need to redefine specific sectors to make the environment supportive for human activities. Most communities have a fundamental imbalance that requires the efforts of different individuals to create a change and fix the prevalence of such disparities. It is, therefore, necessary to get a functioning unit of people to improve society and make it a better place. The success of a nation is converse to the contribution resulting from different individuals since one person is unable to restructure a community to a better. Interdependence has a significant impact on the overall success of society since the collaborative environment created fosters trust among individuals, clarifies the roles due to the presence of clear communication and responsibility assignment as well as reaching a consensus on the approach to specific problems.
For perfect achievement community goals, the members must possess a collaborative attitude to in performing their assigned tasks. For instance, the attempts to reduce the police brutality on the African Americans and Black Americans got successful after the victims formed movements that demonstrated against the prevalence of the menace. The Demonstration of the "Black Lives Matter" reduced the level of brutality of police activities on the black communities (Freelon et al. 110). Before the movement, the extra-judicial killing had risen to higher levels in the black communities, and so, there was an intense need to mitigate the menace. Forming the movement that expressed their grievances collectively to the responsible bodies reduced the prevalence of the police brutality within the regions. Accountability and transparency in the sector of criminal justice have improved through the movement that encompassed the contribution of different individuals within the society. It is, therefore, necessary to involve public support to make progress on any activity within the community.
Similarly, the Nisbett's work 'The Geography of Thoughts' affirms that realistic group identities originate from the most collective societies (Diagne and Souleymane 14). It is, therefore, necessary to embrace totality in undertaking activities aimed at improving our communities. Every individual in a community has a responsibility in the overall development since improving a society entails various events which cannot be attended to by a single individual. Moreover, global continuum only occurs from in-depth understanding among each other, which is created by identifying the efforts of every member towards building a society. For instance, China, as a country, has developed to be among the world economic powers as a result of collectivism within the state. The virtue is paramount in fostering peace and harmony. The environment has, therefore, upholds co-existence of various views that aims to restructure their society into a better place. The spirit has always kept China among the top list of most advanced countries in the world. Mutual support is an essential aspect of the community development process.
A clear understanding of Don Marquis' poem, 'the lesson of the moth' comprehensively demonstrates the need for one another to achieve specific goals. In the lesson, the moth attempts to create an entrance through an electric bulb but finds it so hard to be successful. It is, therefore, resorts to clinging within the place after which it gets direction on what to do (Slattery and Devin 111). Literary, the poem depicts the need for one another in achieving specific goals in the community. The moral lesson states that one depends on others to meet their objectives. Similarly, it is hard for a single community member to achieve a goal that changes the communal state to a better place. Every success, therefore, requires collective efforts from different community members with diverse or similar responsibilities since improving the community is a multi-discipline aspect that calls for different contribution in different areas.
The integration of prisoners has made society a better place to live (Visher, Christy, and Jeremy 100). The process involves collaborative activities that change the prisoners entirely to be reliable individuals of the community. The actions that have reintegrated such individuals are the attempts by the community members to create comprehensive community models which make important communal messages to reach readers. The models have fostered sharing among the community members making it easy for the freed prisoners to access the information which is necessary for community development. The common practice has promoted peaceful co-existence within such communities.
On the other hand, for individualists, the information is not easily accessible to community members, and so, valuable information that has substantial impacts in the community are not easily accessible (Diagne and Souleymane 13). The members of the society only get the assurance of reading such information on a guarantee that the authors would share them, which have not been the case in most instances. Communal collaboration is, therefore, necessary to improve the living conditions and foster peaceful co-existence. The ability to oversee the possible constraints of success in a community is rooted in the fact that such communities do not embrace collaboration. Living together entails being of benefit to each other and devising ways of approaching the setbacks experienced in the community. Neighborhood support has been proved to be among the most significant aspects of peaceful co-existence since it fosters understanding among the community members as well as value provision for each member (Landon et al. 563). The overall goal of improving the society is, therefore achievable since individuals freely work with each other in such communities to redefine their environment.
However, working as a team can be associated with certain problems, which may lead to the unsuccessful accomplishment of tasks within a societal setting. Such occasions occur when team members ignore the suggestions made by other associates regarding their responsibilities. Besides, some members tend to focus on their roles without supporting others in completing their tasks. Egocentrism among some team members has contributed significantly to the failure of specific community projects (Schroeder and Juliana 93). In such instances, the members may find it necessary to work as an individual to avoid problems related to team works.
On balance, improving the community is a collective responsibility that calls upon all members to contribute to the activities that develop the community. A functioning unit of individuals is paramount in achieving the developmental goals like bringing positive change in a community. A thriving community has a responsibility to interdependently work together with due coordination for the realistic achievement of goals. With joint efforts, the problems and difficulties related to specific tasks get solutions by evaluating the various suggestions made by the team members. Besides, teams are always the best settings for making realistic decisions relating to community development since different people possess different capabilities. Work teams are therefore the most appropriate models for improving communities as there is effective management of inventories as well as the assurance of the quality of the activities since each member possess exceptional strengths that significantly contribute to overall community improvement.
