Introduction
Global communication refers to the different ways that regions use to connect, share information, relate as well as mobilize across the geographical and cultural dimensions. Business situations are tricky, and it is difficult for cultures to grasp the concepts of flattery communication. UAE is predominantly occupied by the Sunni Muslims, and the Sharia laws drive the social and political matters. The communication style of UAE involves small talks that are common that are expected and often preclude discussions of business. The Arabic language consists of the use of hyperbole where they praise the merits of others, and in other circumstances, they comment on them. In that case, during the process of relationship-building, the Arabs make it a priority to offer compliments to their host, the entire organization and the world of Muslim as well (Khondker, 2011). Communication on a global level is more complicated than the aspect of localization. The use of verbal and non-verbal messages is considered an international setting. The Arabic language ensures that they compliment the host to maintain a good flow of communication in the future date. The style is also that the way they conduct their business is to depend on trust and they tend to fall short in the event where the other rushes to business matters. The demand that the Arabs make is that business needs to be regular and constant communication to reach the final satisfactory idea. They ensure that enough time is taken to know the counterparts which they do by providing they ask generic questions as well as show personal interest in them. The Arabs go ahead to ask about unrelated matters such as sporting interests and trips abroad to get a better understanding of them (Khondker, 2011). Communication style also involves engaging in a good few meetings where they conduct a restaurant visit to ensure that their counterparts feel ready to do business transactions with them. Holding meetings in restaurants states the willingness of the colleagues to engage in business with the host country. UAE makes a great move to offer genuine flattery communication to other international organizations to move into business with them.
UAE is said to host the largest free trade zone that is located in Dubai that is relevant in attracting tourists and ensures diversification of the economy. It has also been considered as the most liberal and tolerant country in the region. The communication system of UAE includes the press that receives subsidies by funds from the government. However, the press is of private ownership. There are newspaper dailies present in UAE that give information to the residents. There are other publications that the UAE engages in such as those that span the spectrum of commerce and others that deliver political and religious concerns of the residents. There are radio and television stations that also provide a room for communication to members of the country (Ayish, 2002). The internet is also available for a large number of people. These communication systems in UAE ensure that people are informed of news from diverse regions, whether local or international.
The communication style also involves the hierarchal structures where they show respect to the people that are higher in position. The aspect of hierarchal structure ensures that different international countries feel respected for their personality in other countries which goes ahead to build a good relationship. The people tend to use titles where it is appropriate.
The cultural differences of UAE contain a lot of taboos that may hinder communication in one way or another. UAE is solidly grounded in religion that may not be the aspect in most of the countries that they would like to deal with (Al-Jenaibi, 2017). There is the presence of strict laws that help to reduce the occurrences of crime and also enhance the quality of life. However, this is a stumbling block to foreign nations that would like to do whatever thing they would want because most countries cherish freedom. The religion also states its restrictions such as no inclusion of alcohol and pork in the diet of any individual. Drinking is only available in a few of the licensed areas for the people that are non-Muslims only. The aspect of restriction may bar other nations from communicating with them because they have no business together. Religion also puts a curfew for the non-Muslims because they are not allowed to enter a mosque of touch the Quran. It is unfortunate that the non-Muslim nations will end up being left out in deals from UAE.
There is the aspect of keeping up appearances that UAE observes differently from other nations. The dressing is an essential tool for every culture because it is a way of identifying them. Visitors coming to UAE are expected to meet the standards of modesty that the nation spells out to everybody else. It is not necessarily that they should deck themselves in the traditional garb, but they are required to meet the local standards of modesty. The main idea is that the visitors may be offended that the nation is so strict with trivial things like dressing especially that in the modern days' people have the freedom to wear what they like (Prayag, & Hosany, 2014). For the case of men, they need to avoid a lot of jewelry around the neck while for women, the critical feature is concealment. Other nations may find the dressing too complicated for their liking. Global communication demands that countries should compromise the laws of others. However, this aspect of dressing may bar interpersonal interaction with other nations that are not in support of the same.UAE also shows cultural differences regarding the behavioral issues. Cultural taboos are prevalent in the nation, and a foreigner may not concur with the essentials (Dinnie, 2015). UAE does not allow homosexuality. In most circumstances, individuals remove their shoes when entering a building especially a home such that they follow the example of the host. These cultural differences are not prevalent in some of the other nations where they communicate.
Conclusion
The aspect of global communication is affected by the culture of a nation among other factors. Global communication serves as a way for the gateway to significant opportunities in other nations. UAE considers connection on a global level as an element of investment. The residents tend to examine the continuous flow of information in the region that they use to transfer ideas globally and ensure the intricate development of communication. The national and transnational media get included as part of the global system of news flow, interaction regarding politics as well as a cultural exchange in other levels. UAE is a liberal nation that ensures proper communication in global standards even with such a range of cultural differences.
