1. Discuss the Scope of Practice for Advanced Practice (APRNs) Registered Nurses in Georgia for Family Nurse Practitioner.

Georgia is among the fastest-growing nations in the world. Despite these fast growth, the laws guiding the nursing practitioners seem to be lagging. The critical element of the scope of practice of APRNs is the independency in prescribing not collaborating with the physician, being part of the APRNs consensus model. The nation does grant these practitioners their freedom when performing their duties. the supervisors and the nurses must work together under the nurse protocol. Nurse protocol is a deed provided by the physician to the nurses and permits them to conduct medical examinations.

Delegating physicians in Georgia are required to available for consultation with the APRN. A substitute may b designated as part of the nurse practice agreement if the physician is not available. In Georgia, the delegating physician is legally responsible for all medical examination conducted by the APRN. APRNs in Georgia have the responsibility of taking care of medically stable patients across all age groups such as children, adolescents, seniors, and adults.

Physician oversight refers to the ability of nurse practitioner to work independently without supervision of a physician. There is no need for guidance by the physicians because the practice authority gives the APRN power to work independently. Also, through oversight, some of the workers nay not work according to the level required because they will be anxious.

Advance practice nurses hold various prescriptive authorities, which include they have the power to prescribe medicines to the patients without being limited. Secondly, working independently without collaborating with the physician in prescribing(Pohl et al.,2010). Similarly, APRNs have the prescriptive authority of being part of the APRN consensus model, which its aim is seeking the achievement of uniformity of state regulation of APRN practice. the educational requirements are the APRN must have an RN license and be certified nationally and be licensed by the state as an APRN.

4. What is the Process for Licensure, Registration, and Certification?

Licensure refers to the process of granting the license to APRNs to perform their roles. Licensure results from the performing of a nurse practice act by government administrations for the regulation of nursing. After enacting a nurse practice act, legislation is enforced by a state legislature authority to a state agency(Phillips, 2016). Certification is a voluntary process where individuals undertake examination in the area of specialization to be recognized in that profession. Candidates take reviews in the field of their specialty, upon passing the candidates are certified. The process of certification gives nurses with a strategy of distinguishing themselves from other practitioners.

5. Can an APN Have an Independent Practice in this State? Why or Why Not?

Georgia is among the states which do not require nurse practitioners to work under physicians. An APN can have an independent practice in Georgia because the law allows the nurse practitioners to practice independently without the physician over sighting that is they have the power to open their practices (BOYD, 2000). They can prescribe medicines to patients and method according to the level of their training.

6. Are There Any Aspects Of The Marketplace/Organization Where You Plan To Practice That You Need To Consider For Your Future Role?

There are aspects of the organization that need I to consider for my future role as an APRN. This includes the transformation of the healthcare system to fit the needs of the patients. Creation of accessible, high quality and environments for patients that are value-driven. My plan of becoming a life long learner is delivering more care in the society instead of the acute care setting and provide seamless care.
