Introduction
Awareness scale is the measure that assists in measuring a person's ability to be aware of their emotions when it comes to different aspects of life. It is a cognitive skill that is different to all individuals depending on its degree of development. My research was focused on two groups which are the traditionalists and the baby boomers. The two groups are of very different generations with a wide gap between them. I choose the two groups because of their huge difference when it comes to ideologies at work, as well as different life aspects. The traditionalists group is made up of people born between the year 1927 and 1946. Due to the state of their lifestyle, others could see them but not to hear much from them. The group has already retired because most of them are over eighty years old. They do believe in the idea that for one to earn a living, they must work and nothing comes by easily.
The baby boomers were born between the years 1960 to 1964, although other people may have different opinions on when the group was born. The group is considered as the special generation since was the healthiest as the governments' subsides after the world-war such as improved education and housing benefited them. The two groups are different due to the era of their birth and upbringing. On self-awareness, the two groups show a very clear difference between themselves. The traditionalists are aware that for them to survive, they have to work. Many hard to take jobs that they did not appeal for so that to earn a living. Due to this struggle, they have developed a cognitive ability that pushes them to be hardworking despite of their old age. Due to the level of self-awareness, they are the most loyal to their employees and the job that they should go in general. On the scale of awareness, the group is committed to its responsibilities. The second group of baby boomers, they tend to think of themselves as the special ones amongst all other groups. They were greatly influenced by their environment which made them become the innovative group. Their self-awareness was driven by the fact that they had expectations that the world would become a better place to live.
The two groups have a similarity according to the audience. Both traditionalists and baby boomers have a focus on achieving a particular target. Baby boomers focus on working to achieve a specific goal that will contribute to change while the traditionalists will also accomplish a goal due to what they were brought up believing in. From the aspect of baby boomers and traditionalists, my conclusion is that they have different ways of doing what they believe in, but in the end, they end up achieving their goal. They differ in that the traditionalists tend to focus on conserving what already exists.
On the other hand, the baby boomers tend to believe in innovating and improving what already exists. Their ideology might have been influenced by the fact that every human cannot belong to the same group as each one came into the world at a different period. That means it is not possible for all of them to have a similar way of handling situations in the world. The world always has a different experience to expose people into regarding social-status and the economic condition at that period. The other groups of people also have what they believe in which has been due to changes. The most important thing for them is always to understand one another so that to build the world to become a better place to be, as well as to ensure that the future generation enjoys the created environment. Less can be done to influence the path that the groups will fall into therefore accommodating others' ideas will always create a better world.
