Introduction

Every company or producing organization needs an outlet for their products to reach the marketplaces to make their sales every time. Different companies or firms can use different channels to ensure that their products reach the ultimate consumer which is the aim of every business enterprise. All the products of an organization must follow therefore a given channel that leads them to such target markets (Swaminathan et, al. 607-632). This is the chain of distribution which refers to the chain of businesses with the inclusion of the intermediaries that the goods pass through their hands before it finally reaches the final consumer. The channel taken by a given good to the market is determined by the business itself and may be either direct or indirect. Direct channel, in this case, will mean that the consumer gets then goods directly from the producer without the involvement of the other intermediaries while the indirect channel will have the excellent pass through some other businesses or intermediaries before getting to the hands of the final consumer. The direct channel gives an opportunity to have contact with the consumer at a close level (Manuj et, al. 133-155). The distribution channel involves not only the path that the goods follow to reach the intended customer but also covers the line that the payment of the very goods will take to reach the owner or supplier of the products. The channel could be short or long, but this depends on the number of the intermediaries required on the same channel which is also determined by the value estimated in the good supplied.

Baker Food Industry

Background

This company began in 2009 when there was a harsh realization of the food shortage in the global food supply. The company deals in food products that include both the finished and unfinished foods. I took over the opportunity to fill the gap and to cease the opportunity to make the business stand and supply the world with food (Manuj et, al. 133-155). The business started by providing the neighbors with the food and investigations done revealed that food shortage was a worldwiude4 food shortage which facilitated the need to expand the business to an international food supply business which has over the time done well in its operation. The company has survived amidst several challenges. The greatest challenge has been the creation of the link to have the contact and control over the customers overseas.

Distribution

The distribution follows different channels depending on the distance that is dictated by the ranges. The supply is done locally, nationally and internationally. This, therefore, gives room for using several pathways that are not similar to all regions. For the local amount, the short supply chains are used, and the length of the path increases with time increase into the covered area. The international channel takes the longest route that beginning with the producer to the sales agent and agents until it ends to the foreign consumer in the overseas (Swaminathan et, al. 607-632). The chain, therefore, depends on the distance because most of the products are not very perishable and are also packed with preservatives that help keep them in good conditions for relatively long periods. The channels followed include:

  • Producer to consumer-for local sales
  • Producer to wholesalers to retailers to consumers-for national supply and
  • Producer to sales agency to a foreign sales agent to the external wholesalers to the foreign consumer -for the international amount

Internal Operations

The internal operations of the industry are targeted at meeting the objectives of the industry which is making supplies to the global market and the local one as well with the food products. This is achieved by ensuring proper coordination of duties from given departments of the industry. The activities include the reception of the raw materials from the suppliers who are mostly the farmers since the industry uses much of the farm products in the manufacturing of the products that are then supplied into the market. There are training sessions offered to train the farmers in better ways of making better quality products that are as per the specification of the company. Once the raw materials are received, the sorting is done, and the proper selection of the elements is made to ensure that the right ones are used for quality production. The manufacturing process then takes off, and the products are set for packing at the end of the processing (Manuj et, al. 133-155). The branding is then done, and the goods get ready to be taken into the market for sales.

Production and Planning

The output of the industry is a continuous process that is undertaken all the seasons to meet the demand of the market. The production involves the corporation of all the parties and the individual employees of the firm. The planning of the activities that are undertaken in the business is organized and stipulated out in forums that are led by the director of the company. All the other requirements concerning changes to be made are conveyed to the people in the different department to every needed effort is marshaled to come to the meeting of the targets of the industry. The planning is always the goal everyone in the industry wants to achieve at all times. The plan is done by the heads of management and shared to other people during the annual meetings and the briefings of which every employee is given room to raise their concerns before the final strategy is set and amended.

The products that are produced are majorly the canned foods like the meets, fillet, beverages that undergo several processes to be proved fit for consumption of the people internationally. Once these products are set ready for the market, the company sends them into the market using the transport department f the industry. The industry has several transit heavyweight tractors that are used in making the supplies to the local market and the agent Premises (Swaminathan et, al. 607-632). The sales agents than in their arrangements reach the products to the next intermediaries. The very process continues without a break until the products finally reach the ultimate consumer either in the local market r the foreign market. The transportation of the end products into the market is left in the hands of the transportation department of the company. The company chips in to offer support on request to help the intermediary's foot their transportation of the products to the market. The company also under urgency or special orders under international shipping to the global markets to meet an acute demand or shortage to maintain the continuous flow of the company`s products in the market. The hiring from the other transport industries also is applied under conditions of urgency and emergencies. The costs are calculated and rolled to the cost input of the product that is used in the determination of the market price of the goods ready for sales. The cost of getting the items into the market is minimized to avoid the explosion of the market prices since this will increase the market prices which may then result in low sales.

The model formation involves coming together of the heads and including the professionals in the modeling field that aid in making the model for the supply chain of the business products. The company receives the information from the communication department which has the link to the intermediaries and the local consumers and gives the relevant information concerning the products in the market to the company. The knowledge received is mostly firsthand and have in due time been active since the real feeling of the consumer is worked on and attendee to according to their exact needs (Manuj et, al. 133-155). The inclusion of all the valuable resources from the information to the manners in the business has been the strength of the excellence of the business.

Conclusion

The steps in the supply of the products begin with the input of resources that are used for production activities. The process continues with many events being involved in the process of having the end products. The processing level of the channel has may operation that is undertaken within it. The end products are released into the market as the output. Other activities are involved in the processing of the products. This will include the information and the link to the mark with the moral support of all the business departments. The company utilizes the data from the channel and applies it to the production process. The information is useful and is used to shorten the chains.
