Question 1: With the expected growth, describe at least two important factors the CEO must consider in the organizational design for the company to ensure desired goals are achieved.
The growth of any company comes with new challenges and opportunities. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the Chief Executive Officer to have the right mindset and consider some factors in the organizational design to assure the firm reaches its goal (Garry et al., 2018). Some of the elements include maximizing on the use of the companies employees and their talents, promoting accountability in the running of the firms, and using the opportunities and the strengths of the organization to achieve the required goals.
Employees are integral to the success of an organization. Therefore, any CEO will create an excellent working condition for the employees to enable the company to achieve its required goals. Furthermore, workers have different talents. When the firm effectively uses the employees' skills the output increases and leads to improved services. Employees are further vital because they are the people who interact directly with the customers. Consequently, when they create a good rapport with the clients, it will lead to increased business (Garry et al., 2018). Therefore, the CEOs are required to treat their workers with care and provide them with a conducive environment that motivates them to work. The employees will further be able to reciprocate the peace and harmony in the organization by ensuring that consumers receive customer-centric services that will lead to the growth of the company (Garry et al., 2018). Therefore, the CEO can achieve the required goal of the company after the expansion if the organizational design incorporates the needs of the employees and make good use of their talents.
Organizations are required to promote accountability for them to reach their desired objectives. Accountability in the running of a business is important because it assures the continuity and growth of an organization. The organization design should promote accountability from both the workers and the CEO. Furthermore, the accountability of the company should be automatic without any micromanagement. The company should create a culture that motivates the employees and enhances accountability in the duties (Garry et al., 2018). Accountability can be improved in an organization if there is a clear flow of information across all departments and units of the organization. Accountability makes it easier to implement decisions in the firm and have a positive effect on the performance of the workers.
The CEO should understand the company's strength and build on them. This will lead to the creation of more opportunities for the firm. Organizational design should incorporate the strength of the company and formulate ways in which they can be effectively used by both the senior management and the employees to improve the success of the firm.
Question 2: Name one challenge that the CEO should anticipate from a talent management standpoint and how do you suggest it be resolved?
The major challenge that the CEO should anticipate the issue of talent management is understanding the capabilities of the new employees and effectively using their talents towards the success of the firm. The process of understanding the unique skills of workers in a big organization requires time (Garry et al., 2018). Therefore, most employees will end up being underused or performing duties that are not in the area of specialization. Such a misunderstanding between the parties adversely affects the output of the employees in the firm.
The CEO can avoid this challenge by investing time in understanding the capabilities of every employee. Furthermore, the CEO should be ready to create long-lasting relationships with the workers in the organization (Garry et al., 2018). The process assists and fastens the period taken by the CEO and the company to understand the unique talents of the various employees in the organization.
