Introduction

The day was rainy amidst traces of clouds that covered the little remaining parts in the sky. Everyone was happy; I was among the squad. We were to attend a birthday party to crown the tiresome week of class work. The party was scheduled for ten hours in Sanctify Hotel in middle of the city. I have never visited the place before, and it was going to be one of the best moments of my life. I chose my best clothes because I knew a camera operator could not miss such an event. Everyone dresses to their best. Handsome and beautiful we were. The long-awaited departure time finally reached.

We drove for approximately three hours to the city. The journey itself was fun, and every event unfolds a beautiful end. True, it was! We arrived at the scene so happy and psyched up. All cameras were directed towards our direction. Who are we to disappoint the enthusiastic and energetic cameramen, we obliged, and several shots were made. The best of all photos were mounted on the doorway with beautiful inscriptions around it. Birthday lights shone pleasantly around the picture to keep it glittering.

The party officially kicked off. All delicacy was available. Both soft and hard drinks much, the party was lit. It was towards the end of the party after birthday songs had been sung and gifts given that we were informed that Michael Jackson had been invited as the guest artist. What! I couldn't believe it. The guy I have seen on screen is going to right on stage. His time came, and after several songs and dances, we got an opportunity to have several photographs with him. It was much fun. The party ended at around five o'clock in the morning. We had to bid him buy through his photo remained with us till now. The moment was one in a million; it will stay vivid in me forever. What a day!

The photo partially tells my audience about the event. The inscriptions and writing that were embedded around it can say what the event. The audience easily relates to the game and concludes to its nature. The presence of birthday decorations that were made around the photo easily links the audience with the game. The nature of the dress code, the mood of people as can be portrayed from the picture can make the audience relate to the event. However, it doesn't give the whole information about whose birthday was being celebrated. The time for the celebration and the place are hard to identify. Most decorations on a photo tear apart some vital information about the situation. Notably, one cannot distinguish between a wedding party and a birth party with just a glance at a given photo. Tracing the mood is another hectic point that a picture hardly displays. Similarly, great cameras always reveal unnecessary information at the background that is generally less important thus making determination and identification card. Due to the improvement of technology many people are not satisfied with photos and always relate them to Photoshop. A photographer may also crop the picture to a given size thus leaving out relevant information that can be used to make a concrete interpretation. Overall, the viewer not easily understands the context of the event as compared to when it is told as a story.

A story is more important in revealing information as compared to a photo. In a story, the audience gets firsthand information and can follow the chronological order. The mood of the event can easily be identified by reading a novel. A story brings the whole game to the dispensation of the audience. A story easily creates emotions in the audience. My impression towards telling the story will create a proper link as the audience will quickly follow the event as it unfolds. A story captures the whole game where a photo focuses on a given scene. A story can narrate what is in the picture, telling when it was taken, why it was made and the relationship that existed during the photo session. My story has a lot of explicit description that throughout the event. My story can also entertain and attract the audience for a long time of attention.

Additionally, my story could tell the number of people who were present in the event. The story manages to describe all competitions as they unfold, made all the idea memorable and persuaded whereas the photo only showed a specific scene to summaries the whole game. A story has an introduction, the middle which is the climax and the end where the audience can fathom the nature of the game and make an evaluation is need arises. My story was also capable of telling the quality of my relationship with the scene and the city. The audience could easily deduce my relationship with the guest artist of the event, Michael Jackson who had never seen before. However, the mood is the photo can confuse the audience into making an irrational conclusion. Overall, my story was capable of revealing the character of the people who were present in the scene: the characters levels of education and the reason for organizing the event whereas the photo only covered the fun moment and left other significant incidences.

The phrase saying, "A picture is worth a thousand words" is very right. This because interpreting a given photo requires more information to determine the actual scene and event. Many images are embodied with more information than actually with can be visually seen. One picture can make a whole memoir or encyclopedia (Cavrak, & Kleider-Offutt, 2015). Similarly, a photo can be used to record an event whose verbal incarnations may be unethical to the lives of many. The interpretation of the picture depends on the viewer and helps them create their own opinions. This means that every viewer or audience has a different meaning to the image and the sense fluctuate from one person to the other. From the photographer to the photo alone and the background of the picture reveals more than what the photo contains. Research reveals photo reveals messages quickly than necessary thereby leading the audience to a wrong conclusion and decision. To get real information, one has to interact with different episodes of the scene not only on a single photo.

Additionally, the information in a photo is not merely the visual form, but different colors and backgrounds used signify portray many significant incidences (Pittman & Reich, 2016). A photo offers the nature of the scene and an idea in one look. As opposed to reading articles, a photo conveys the intended information at a glance.
