Students who do not decide to work part-time either due to learning disabilities or other personal reasons should partake an internship before graduation. The world is evolving rapidly. Thus, one needs the capacity, services, and knowledge required to adopt the changes. The job market is very competitive and hard for new graduates to penetrate. As such, applied learning and internship openings become a vital source of experience for college students.

A successful college student should be able to develop good study habits. The human mind needs a constant review to remember information for a long time. Although all-nights would be pulled off for every test, it would not maximize the investment made by overlooking the importance of studying.

Currently, all online job websites require experienced applicants. Even though some entry-level jobs should be for college graduates, still employers need one to be experienced. In today's workforce, employers do not always have the resources and time to train inexperienced employees. Knowledgeable students applying for a job are more likely to be hired than inexperienced college graduates. Experienced students are preferred because they have proven their ability to handle a job while balancing school life and other activities. Students can gain invaluable experience by partaking volunteering programs.

Many students who have not worked while in college find it harder to secure employment than experienced students. Students who work part-time have high work ethics. Psychologist William Knause estimates that about 75 percent of college students procrastinate. Twenty-five percent of students are chronic procrastinators. Many procrastinators end up dropping out of college (DO- IT). Students who engage in extra activities while enrolled in colleges learn to manage their time and other resources effectively. Time management is an essential skill that can be used in and out of school. However, lack of organizational skills can disturb one's self-image and perception. Moreover, lack of time management skills can lead to anxiety, which can disrupt the physical health.

Students who balance school work and part-time jobs are very diligent. Students who work part time earn extra income for upkeep while in college. Keeping a steady income assists one to offset some of the financial burdens when pursuing a degree. While a part-time job is crucial for reducing the school debt after graduation, understanding time management is a critical requirement for maintaining a job. Students who struggle to keep up with their school work cannot partake part-time jobs.

College students who partake part-time jobs for the first time learn about money at a young age. Having a job provides a sense of individuality, liberty, and acceptance in society. Students who work part-time use the money they get to pay for their needs. As such, they require money management skills to ensure proper utilization of their finances. Money management is an essential skill that students need to exercise (PTC). One should make a budget from a tender age to control excessive spending. Maintaining a job while in college, sharpens one's budgeting skills. Budgeting helps one to prioritize between needs and wants. Learning to budget while in college for commodities such as gas, food, school supplies, books, laundry, and personal hygiene items helps to establish an accurate image of spending habits. The spending habits that one develops while in college translate to real-life behaviors during adulthood.

In conclusion, students have two options: to work or not to work while in school. Students who choose to work while in school gain invaluable experience, learn how to balance their schedules, meet deadlines, and manage finances. Part-time work enables students to come out of college more prepared for the responsibilities required in the job market. Students who partake part-time jobs complete their studies with new experiences, which helps them to traverse the competitive job market more efficiently. As such, it is a wise decision for a student to look for a part-time job while in college.
