What is the relationship between students academic motivation and academic performance?

To determine whether students self-regulation influences their academic performances?

Identify the relationship between flexible assessment system and students academic performance.

The relationship between flexible assessment system, academic motivation. Self-regulation and academic performance.

The objectives of this study are clear straight to the point, and they seek to identify what makes the student look forward to their studies. It clearly defines what is to be researched in the field and thus makes the study not a broad one that cannot be quickly reviewed.

One delimitations o this study is the fact that it uses a big sample size of students, a large sample can affect the results due to biases or knowledge that they are participating in a survey hence give irrelevant answers. The fact that it took three months long also makes it vulnerable to getting results that are not correct due to the fatigue on the individuals participating in the research.

Theory

The theoretical framework for this study is relevant to the objectives of this study. In the context, the study provides a precise information of past studies and related theories that describe what to expect when we conduct the study. The literature on motivation and self-regulation are well discussed and ideas presented regarding what has been done in the past regarding this topic. Based on the theoretical framework the previous studies make our objectives relevant and hence making our study a reasonable one.

Assumptions about this study on why students study is the fact that those students participation in the research were going to give honest and unbiased answers on whether self-regulation and motivation influence their performance. Students can give honest answers or lie about it just to complete the questionnaire provided.

This study employed proper use of sources both the old and the new ones in comparing the literature sampled regarding the influence of motivation and student performances. The writing of this study is analytical as it examines what makes students study is motivation or self-regulation. Based on the literature put forward about this topic the research is well analysed and thus of comprehensive and credible information is used to back up the validity of this study.

Methodology

Survey method involving the distribution of questionnaires was used in this study. The choice of this method was because survey questions can be easily made and distributed among other individuals (Fowler, 2013). Individuals also can fill the questionnaire quickly and hand over the results of research. Questionnaires also can be read over the phone, done on emails and they are not time-consuming hence the choice. The argument for using surveys is satisfactory the provide the simpler and most efficient method of collecting data given the little time provided. The choice fits the research question in that several objectives can be answered by collecting data on various angles about the research question of the study.

Data was collected by distributing questionnaires to a student who was willing to respond to the question of the survey. This s mainly done on students in business and economic programs who formed the respondents. Undergraduate from the economic and business programs was chosen because self-regulation is one of the hidden curriculum necessary for students to become independent entrepreneurs. The reliability of the data collected is accurate given the students who were chosen were willing to provide answers and participate in the survey voluntarily. Results obtained are also valid because they were given by students who were ready to take part in the research and give honest answers. Through the use of factor analysis, the validity of the results obtained was tested involving orthogonal and factor rotation. All the variables in the objectives were tested and the results obtained using this method were considered significant if they were above factor 0.4. All the items tested were above this value hence the validity if the research.

Descriptive statistics was used in the analysis of the various variables in this study using the bivariate correlation analysis. The correlation on the constructs of the survey was done using the variables by determining the standard deviation, reliability, and relationships between these variables. The relationship was found to be positive among the variables.

Th link between theory and the data is well established as the results seemed to be similar in some ways to the previous approach from other researchers. The data has answered the research questions by showing that there is a relationship between the variables provided in the study.

Results and Conclusions

The results of the survey have been well presented by conducting first the validity and reliability of the obtained results. Analysing the results to establish their relationships and the how they influence the student's performance through comparing the variables. Use of the descriptive statistics that follows and the hypothesis testing explains the much need interpretation is analyzing and evaluation of the data collected.

The discussion of the results has been tied with theory discussed earlier. By referring to the arguments brought forward earlier, the results are presented and compared with literature existing on this research question. There are relevant discussions on the implications of the study as to why self-regulation and academic motivation in improving academic performance.

The objectives of the study were achieved as they are well discussed in the discussions of the research of how they are related and how they influence academic performance. The main contribution of the study is the improvement of students performance in college, how self-regulation and motivation influence it (Ning & Downing, 2012). Through this study, people can identify what motivates students to learn, and their performance can be enhanced by making sure that students get to motivate themselves and self-regulate, so they succeed in the outside world.

General Assessment

This study is very logical and structurally clear, it sets the question research done in the past gathers the results using a transparent methodology analyze them using qualitative methods then discusses this results by comparing them with existing literature in concluding the findings and answering the research question. The presentation is clearly done through clear subheadings that guide one in doing the research creating tables and the creation of the references relevant to the topic. Appendices are also appropriately placed in the last part, and they are in line with what they do to answer the research question by explaining the objectives.
