The internet is a networking tool that allows people to connect and share information while they are located in different parts of the world. It does not have boundaries in terms of the locations and allow the people to share any information that they have. The usage of the internet has transformed society in many different ways, both positively and negatively. Among the impacts of the internet is uniting the world where people from different communities and regions share ideas based on their experiences. One can share ideas with other people through the internet, and the people get helped from the ideas. Many ideas have been shared with people and helped them in improving their lives.

The internet has become a necessity in this era where smart devices are accessible. The internet has revolutionized the way we conduct activities such as buying and selling commodities, whereby it has become a common and accepted medium of communication. The use of the internet has changed society both positively and negatively. Through the internet, digital societies have been created, and the economy has changed. The internet has impacted sectors such as education, healthcare, as well as business.

The other change that the internet has brought include improving international trade where people carry out transactions using online platforms. It's more comfortable doing international business online were compared to doing the business in the traditional way. The cost of doing the business is reduced because people don't have to spend resources traveling to different locations around the world to do transactions. The world trade has been integrated by the internet, where people trade their goods and services from different parts of the world. However, the rise of the trade has led to the rise of online criminals that claim to be engaging in trade with the intentions of carrying out fraud against honest people. Internet laws have not been strong enough to prevent online criminals from carrying out attacks. The Internet has also facilitated communication.

The usage of the internet has also influenced the culture of many societies because they can learn about the culture of other societies and what they like about that culture. The western culture is among the major cultures that have dominated the world. The people are embracing the clothing style of western culture because they believe that they are the best. The people from other parts of the world keep on checking what the fashion trends from the western countries are. Many cultures have been shared across the world through the internet hence transforming the world as a whole. The penetration and usage of the internet have increased in recent years, and therefore, people continue to learn about other culture.

The usage of the internet has also brought negative effects to society, among the effects include increased immorality among the youth. The youth are using the internet to share nudes and other immorality materials that don't have value to their lives (McKinsey, 2018). It has also led to the growth of the pornographic industry because the internet facilitates the sharing of pornographic materials, too, in a new form of crime that is done online. Many companies have been attacked, leading to the loss of finances and key information. People are, however, concerned about their privacy while using the internet.

Different laws have been developed to regulate the use of the internet to eliminate the online criminals that take advantage of the innocent internet users who are not aware of the dangers that they face (Brown, 2018). Many criminals have been attacked by criminals losing their information and finances. Different countries in Europe have come up with laws to regulate the use of the internet to curb online crimes. The law is meant to protect copyright and protect people from online crimes. The European cybercrime law is intended to make the use of internet safe by protecting innocent internet users not aware of the dangers that they expose themselves to and protect companies against being attacked by cybercriminals. The law provides tough measures against the people caught engaging in criminals' activities online. The law left many stakeholders divided on whether it was too tough to internet users and the way to use the internet. Copyright is among the factors that have been bringing a challenge to the European Union, where people steal others copyright online.

The European Union economy relies on the internet for various economic activities to be a success. Transactions such as banking rely on the internet for the transactions to be done. The cybercrime law was a need to protect the economy because many activities use technologies that might be exploited (Brown, 2018). The law protects creators such as content creators to ensure that there is protected from exploitation and stealing. Lack of regulations to guide the use of technologies threatened the economy because all activities are slowly getting digitized to be atomized and streamline processes. Companies prefer to atomize their activities to reduce the quantity of manpower required and increase their profit margin.

The regulation put in place protect all the users of various forms of technologies by guiding on how the technologies need to be used ethically for the general good of the people (McKinsey, 2018). The public opposed the law claiming that it was too aggressive against the people. The law has brought sanity because the people know what they are not allowed to engage in. companies and individuals as well are also secure when it comes to being protected by the law. Since the formation of the law, digital crimes have reduced significantly. Specialized personnel has also been trained to tracks down the criminals since the kind of attack and criminal activities are done using the technologies require knowledge and skills to handle. The regular law enforcers don't have the skills that are required.

The digitization of the society has led to significant economic changes that have transformed the world, including the European Union member countries. The economic changes include creating online platforms that provide the market place for people to carry out transactions (Kumar, 2016). There are platforms where people exchange goods hence facilitating trade. Many people have secured jobs from the online platforms hence improving the economic activities of the people. Also, there are online companies that have emerged that have hired many people hence creating jobs. People have also lost jobs when companies have digitized by using technologies to carry out the work that was previously done by people. Also, jobs have been created by companies producing technologies and digital devices.

The transformation of marketing has also transformed the economy, companies are shifting to online platforms to market their products and services that they produce (Litan, 2001). The market has also increased because the online platforms where people from different countries can purchase the goods from anywhere. The companies can save the costs that they could incur; the company makes more profits. Companies are also forced to manufacture high-quality products because of the increased competition by other international companies. The buyers get quality products from the manufacturers at an affordable price. The technologies also facilitate the companies to produce a high-quality product that meets the expectations of the customers.

Technology continues to improve because people are advancing their knowledge, the improvement of the technologies, and the defaults that the technologies had (Ramey, 2012). Every technology has a room for improvement; hence, companies need to be aware when they are investing their money on technologies. Companies that have the latest and more advanced technology produced the best goods. Companies can carry their research on improving their technologies to save the costs of purchasing new equipment's.

The technology improvements have also made the technologies to be more reliable because were the technologies used to fail the error is fixed on the improved equipment (Ramey, 2012). Machines are improved their versions to suit the changing environment. Machines work with people and other equipment's and therefore when the environment changes, they too need to be made to be compatible with the new environment (Cosgrave, 2012). Technologies continue to improve hence making life easier for the people using it. Improvements are also done to increase the capacity of the machines by having more features. The manufacturers keep on doing reviews to identify new features that can be incorporated into the gadgets.

The transformation of the society to being digitized has come with its negative side by influencing society negatively. Some people take advantage of the lack of knowledge of the people to exploit them for financial gain (Stefano, 2019). The regulation of the is meant to protect people from such scenarios. Among the crimes that are committed using technology include cyber-attacks where the criminals hack into the systems and privacy of other people and companies to steal their data for personal malicious use (Elding and Morris, 2018). Many companies had closed down when their critical data was .stolen making the company unable to continue with its operations. For example, when Sony company was attacked, it lost all the movies that it had produced; hence, it could no longer sell the movies because they were released to the market. The company incurred huge losses of the money it had invested in producing the films.

Other people are using digital telecommunications to drive their agenda; for instance, elections have been digitized; hence, some of the candidates use the technologies to manipulate the results and win the elections. Electorates end up getting bad leaders that they never voted for. The other common too that is on the rise is fake news where people are misled by fake news that target people to make them believe lies (Ordway, 2017). Fake news is spread through the internet and in the form of massages and target a certain group of people in society. People are made to believe the wrong information to make wrong decisions. Fake news is propaganda that is meant to make the people make the wrong decision. People are given wrong information; therefore, they believe in wrong things.

Digital security is a significant concern because people are no longer save when using electronic gadgets. Measures need to be put in place to regulate the misuse of the technologies (Brown, 2018). The law needs to be updated regularly because the types of crimes keep on changing and advancing (Brown, 2018). The law needs to protect the interest and general good of society. Also, people and companies also need training in using technologies safely.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the digitization of society has brought both positive and negative impacts on society. The European Union has come up with a law to regulate the use of digital devices and regulate the misuse of the technologies. Digitization of society has improved the economic conditions of the people; theref...
