Introduction
The virtue of helping others, especially those with a need started it is way back during the time of Jesus whereby through his kindness and needs to save for humanity He decided to die for our sins. Its primary role is to care for the needy, helping those who were in suffering and reconciling the world according to the outlined verse in the scripture (Col.1:1:15-20). Also, the work of ministries is supported by the scripture verse (Mathew 20:27-28) which discuss the ministry of Jesus Christ whereby He came to the earth to minister human beings spending His time for them for their salvation. Church ministries are still following Jesus steps by spreading all over the world for Christians missions.
The work of ministering is defined us an activity that practiced by believers so that to be able to spread and express their faith in different parts of the world (Cardozo, 1921). Global culture is the culture that extends to other boarders nationally and exists in many different places around the world. It influences the people way of thinking as it acts as a socializing agent around that world; hence, beliefs and values can be easily be transferred from one culture to another. Therefore the work of ministry is to change the cultural believes of different people especially those once that are discriminatory in nature such as:
To Advocate Gender Equality
Some cultures are biased for the women gender, such as the Muslims whereby women are not allowed to be in the place of worship. "Women and dogs should be not allowed in the Mosque." This is the notice which appears in the Mosque gates to show that women are not supposed to be in the places of worship according to their religion. Ministry work tries to bring all the people together as the scripture clearly states that all human beings are equal before the lord. Also, most African traditions do not recognize the women gender in that they are not given a place in leadership in the ministry (Debusscher, & Ansoms, 2013). Therefore, the ministry tries to advocate for the recognition of women in the society and need to be empowered in society.
Reduce Human Suffering
Through charitable institutions ministry work have enabled to identify and provide requirements to the people either those who have been affected by wars, catastrophic climate conditions, poverty and those who have not received the word of evangelism. Human suffering like poverty through ministry work helps in provisions of basic needs such as health care facilities, providing security through negotiation with the government to form refugees' camps for those who have run out of conflicting countries. They also provide educational facilities and support the bright students from the less affluent areas such as the child and elder sponsorship opportunities, among others.
Sport is an activity that involves the exertion of physical and skills whereby the individuals engage in a competition in a team against another. Therefore is a pillar of unity between people of different religion, race and background. Sports appear to be acting like the church ministries as soccer tours help to unite people around the world. This is because people from different races come together to compete. Through competition, some theories or misconceptions about some races will come to be known. For example, there has racial discrimination whereby Africans are treated as lesser beings but through sports, they can practically portray their superiority through their talents and change the mindset of the people to think positively.
Sports helps advocate for gender equality. For example, in football, Africa lagged behind in the development of women football due to lack of women recognition in the society. Women football in Africa is a recent activity to be practiced due to the cultural beliefs in the negative misconception about women inferiority. According to Pierre de Coubertin, the founder of the Olympic Games, his main aim is to be able to bring all the nations together to work in a friendly manner across the global. Through interaction across the world through sports, culture is shared from one country to another. In culture, values are to be shared, such as language which will help people to communicate with one another with ease. Therefore sports is more powerful in connecting people than Christianity because sports is one and Christianity have been divided to form Protestants groups such as the cults.
Sports also helped to reduce suffering whereby through sports wealth is gained by the participants of which some of their finances they use to develop their countries either to develop talents for the young people or provide donations to the charitable institutions in their home country. Hope has developed again for the less fortunate countries for the individual participants who participate in sports.
Sports and ministry have been combined together, for example, during sports time such as football before the game begins, the participants gather to pray together. Praying together is one of the ways of bringing people together despite their religious difference. In sports, people cross the border to other parts of the world to interact along with their counterparts from different parts of the world. Love is developed between the people, which is the work of the ministry. Through the sport's rules, which advocates for equality and discipline, moral values were developed that can help to improve the Christians ministries (Liu & Liu, 2017).
Conclusion
The discussion introduces the virtue of helping one another through helping those who were in need as evidence of an old set that begins during the time of Jesus. Ministry and global culture are defined and how they can be spread to the world through ministry work and sports. Ministry work helps in advocating for gender equality and reducing suffering around the world through promoting justice and also as a career that used to change people's lives. Ministry sports combined have been working together during prayers and love is also developed through interaction.
