Introduction
Trump referred to a speech made by Clinton in a Brazilian Bank. Clinton had spoken to the tycoons at the Goldman Sachs and had allegedly been paid off. He was referring to the fact that Hillary Clinton displayed a relaxed tone towards Wall Street. Clinton was paid a heavy check for speeches she made to a group of Wall Street titans and displayed an easy form of comfort with the business of the tycoons. She embraced utter practices of international business and praised a plan of balancing the budget that would have required cuts to social security (Chokshi, 2016). The information tainting the image of Clinton was leaked by Wiki Leaks. Trump alluded to the banks "owning" Clinton for the way she agreed to be paid for her speeches.
In criticizing Clinton, Trump said he knew the guys at Goldman Sachs and that they had total control over Ted Cruz in the same way they had total control over Clinton and her party. In saying so, Trump was attacking her liberty and exposing the kind of mind control that the people at the bank had over Clinton because of the money they paid her. He was essentially saying that she cannot lead the country since she lacked autonomy and the liberty that a person who holds such an office needs to have (Chokshi, 2016). Presidents in the United States are expected to have personal autonomy and be free from any forms of control as this may be seen to force them to adhere to certain political inclinations that appeal to their donors. The speech by Trump suggests disbelief in Clinton's pledge to help grow the economy from the middle class towards other economic classes.
When Clinton said she would grow the economy to make it fairer and make it work for everyone she meant she would loosen the tight legislation about international and domestic trade and would ensure that both small scale and large scale business owners operate on the balanced ground for the sake of fair commerce and trade. Moreover, she also meant she would fix legislation and policies to make it easier for start-up businesses to thrive and make an entry into the American market (Olsen, 2016). Clinton said she would ask the wealthy corporations to pay their fair share meaning she would deal with the issue of tax evasion which has for long been part of the culture of American conglomerates which are able to get away with remitting their taxes.
She promised that no evidence would slow or diminish the growth of the American economy understanding that the issue of the loss of jobs to the Chinese is of primary concern to the populace. In doing so she promised to go back to rebuilding the country from the middle out. In other words, she promised the boosting of the economy in favor of the middle class which forms the majority of the American population (Olsen, 2016). The idea of the middle economy, otherwise meaning imposing tax cuts for the wealthy is however likely to face rejection as it will be termed as an unfair move to the wealthy who must be treated as equal citizens by under the law. Moreover, the theory suggests growth from the middle going out as opposed to either top down or bottom up which has always been the case in many instances.
