Introduction
Various athletes and sportsmen require their talent to be developed as time goes by. They need a person who will guide them to achieve their goals while in the field doing exercising their expertise. That is they need an individual who will help them to exploit their talent to get the very best out of them. Therefore the process of developing an individual to achieve a professional goal through provision of training and guidance is referred to as coaching. In this context, therefore, our primary focus will be on the development of a coaching portfolio which is a tool that provides the employer with the overlook of an individual as a coach.
General Coaching Philosophy
Generally, my coaching philosophy is based on victory. I want players to have the reason to play. Identify or have the purpose of engaging in the game. With the winning mentality in mind, my players will be able to emerge the best and be of good quality in the pitch. Soccer also referred to as football is one of the favorite games in the world. The game is mainly built around the ability of the players to score goals ("Developing a Professional Coaching Portfolio for Sport Coaches," n.d). In the case of professional football, players move around the field with an attempt to kick the ball within the goal which measures 8 feet in height and 24 feet in the width. In the goal, there is a player whose main agenda is to ensure that the opposing team does not get a chance to score a goal. The goalkeeper is the only person who is allowed to catch the ball with his hands. It is only during the period of throw in when other players are allowed to hold the ball with hands whereby in other cases they should use their knees, feet, chest, and head to control the ball.
In the field, only eleven players together with the goalkeeper are allowed from each team making a total of twenty-two players. These players aim to keep the ball within the field which is rectangular in shape and measures between 100 and 130 yards in length while the width is 50 and 100 yards ("Coaching Styles | Life Coaching Approaches - Life Coach Directory," n.d). For these players to improve their ratings and rankings, they must win matches and exhibit a good game that the fans love. If a small area is involved, I will recommend the use of technical players while in the case of large fields use fast players. Apart from that, when the ball goes out of the goal line which is the width of the pitch, and the defender gets the last touch a corner kick is given to the opponents. On the arc laid that is at one of the sides of the two corners where the ball gets out, the ball is placed and kicked by the player. A penalty kick is awarded in any case a player is fouled in the penalty box. These simple basic rules are what I know and what these players ought to follow to be good and emerge the best.
Ever since I was young have always loved the soccer game and always wanted to win games; however, challenging the opponents were. From the preschool to the college I used to play the game which got me moving ("What Is Soccer?" 2011). It brings different people together in the field as they enjoy different skills that are involved in the game. From past performances, this soccer team has been exemplary. You have great players whom I would love to work with to enjoy the right term of success and bring home more victories. It is a team that looks determined and wants to achieve the very best through the winning of the games. If the team remains focused and follows the basic rules of football which means I will not have any of my players missing the game then our season will be high and successful.
Coaching Style
To be successful in coaching soccer teams, there is various coaching style I have to adopt. One of the approaches I will use is the performance approach. My main agenda is to make sure that I have improved this team to a better level than I met it. To be able to do this, I will be required to build and enhance the performance of these players. Make them good in the position they pay and introduce better a way of playing this game. First, in regards to the performance, I will make sure that there is a good relationship between the players. Make them know the meaning or the word team enabling them to work together and not as an individual. Apart from that ensure that the players are physically well. It is through the physicality of the players that they will be able to improve their handling of the ball and improve their defensive skills.
Another form of approach that I will use is the vision coaching. As a coach an individual should have a goal towards which he or she wants to achieve ("Project Portfolio Coaching," 2011). Through this, I will be able to bring players together, show them what they are aiming and how they will go about it. This will help bring the mentally of victory in the players. In my experience as a player what I know is that a player needs to be given something to work for. It will facilitate focus and improve the morale of the players which will enable them to encounter their opponents with confidence. Nonetheless, vision allows the players to prepare mentally how they will get in the pitch, erasing the bad feelings of doubting themselves improving how they will play in the game. That ensures they imagine themselves as number ones in every challenge they face during the season.
Apart from that, another approach that I will include is ensuring that the game is more tactical. This I will achieve mainly in the training sessions where I will engage my players more in the ball playing, and the skill moves rather than the body physicality exercise. Through this, the players will be able to communicate efficiently in the pitch as they can find each other with ease. The rate of passing accuracy will improve which will allow the players to create more chances and eventually enhance their scoring rate. On the other hand, their ball movement and passing in the pitch will be fast which will enable them to hold the ball for long and be able to counter their opponents making scoring goals easy. What I mean by this is that physical training will be minimal.
Coaching Objective
From what I said in my philosophy, I am a man who wants the very best from my players. I want to be with a team that emerges the very best. Ever since I played soccer, I have not been able to achieve what I wanted which was to win at least a cup in the game. Due to this, I aim at passing my skills to these beautiful young players in the teams. Make them emerge the very best and achieve what I never got to deliver. Apart from that, I want to bring back the vast number of supporters in the field to support this team. I want the players to feel that people value them which will improve their moral and enable them to win the challenges from their rivals.
Nonetheless, I also aim at improving the discipline among players in the team. Football is a game, and to play this game, a certain level of control is required. This is to ensure that there are no players who are going to miss the training session or play a game without following the instructions I give. Through this, we will be able to emerge the very best and attract many people.
Communication Standards
To be able to achieve this there must be excellent communication between the members of the team and the coaching staff. I will make players comfortable with me in that they do not have only to talk about soccer but things that are also affecting them. Mainly by face to face contact which will enable me to know my players more, understand what is affecting their performance and what we can do to put them back in track. Apart from that, it will also allow the players to be able to work together as they will understand what each other and know how to handle each other in the field knowing how they will pass the ball to each other and the various skills they will use to counter the opponents' defense.
Conclusion
In conclusion, therefore, my very wish is that I get to coach these young souls. They look talented and with the right kind of guidance and training these players will improve and be the best. Apart from that, I will get an excellent chance to fulfill my dreams of achieving goals which I did not succeed as a player by making other people achieve theirs.
