Introduction
Community health assessment is the identification of the key aspects that a particular area needs in the improvement of the health of the people in that area. It involves the collection of data from the field using different methods such as questionnaires and interviews. Other people may record videos of the area understudy among other means of data collection (Zachariah et al, 2016). After the assessment, a health improvement plan is made to improve the conditions of the state. This paper is an explanation of the community health assessment principle based on a previous assignment.
Due to the critical nature of public health, there are some regulations that need to be observed when making a community health assessment. They help in coming up with proper results of the assessment s that the appropriate measures may be taken. The first principle is maximum transparency when carrying out the survey (CDC, 2019). All the data collected should be recorded and considered in the analysis. It also helps in accountability of the data (Laurence, 2015). Besides, the community being evaluated should be involved proactively. Most of the members should be involved in the study. It helps in eliminating the errors and getting many viewpoints of the people. If a community with the people is being assessed, more information will be gained by including most if not all ten of the sample.
Moreover, the community under study should be manageable (Wildavsky, 2017). The errors increase as the population of the community increases. The scale should also not be too small to avoid wastage of the material that is to be used in the process. Apart from that, the body in charge of the evaluation should use evidence based interventions and encourage innovative practices (Wong et al, 2015). It especially helps in the improvement of the 14 community health which makes it easy to change the errors found in the assessment.
Conclusion
In conclusion, Community health needs Tobe improved continuously to replace the old and nonfunctional systems. To improve it, community health assessments are done. The principles that guide the evaluation are also discussed above.
