Mrs. Sarah, a seventh-grade teacher, seeks out to help students concentrate, expand their boundaries of learning and maintain an active class all through the period. In a bid to achieve this, she decides that every day whenever they have a period, twenty minutes before the end of the class she would ask students arbitrary questions on social studies. These random questions are more like pop quizzes. The pop quizzes are designed to make students see beyond the classroom notes and learn more about the world and their environment. It would be based on features of the earth, places, demographics, civilizations and weather. When students successfully answer these questions, the student with the highest number of grades by the end of the week is given a star, after earning five points, Mrs. Sarah offers the student a book, a globe or any material that suits his/her studies. General engagement is class earns group points, when the whole class earns five points a pizza party is initiated.
This course will help students engage in class activities; it is aimed at improving activeness in class activities. It will also help students develop an interest in studying beyond the material provided in class, in the long run, students will be more knowledgeable ("Behaviorism: Overview & Practical Teaching Examples ", 2017).
Part 2
Terminal Performance Objective
Engage audiences with their knowledge on the topic
Boost interaction within the session
Identify the most knowledgeable individuals.
The main aim of this section is to develop a higher level of integration with the audiences during the training session. It is clear to note that individuals owning the knowledge need to be recognized during the session. A trainer can develop a mechanism that can help to create a higher level of interactives during the session. It is important to allow the audience to participate in the activities that would help improve their understanding and mastery of the subject matter of the training which in this case will be how to handle police sensitization against the shooting of people of color in the New York City (Fisher, 2010).
The trainer, in this case, will have to develop a quiz regarding what has been taught in the previous hour of the training. The trainer will have a list of quizzes regarding the topics that have been covered. These questions will include all the course content studied. The trainer will order all the participants to stand up; they would be divided into groups. Each group selects their own group representatives that will take up on the mock-up demo. The quiz will involve selecting individual of color and selecting individuals who will be the police. There will be a victim of theft, a thief, and onlookers. The mock up quiz is to train the police on how to handle the situation upon arrival into the scene, the way the police will react should be according to the way they have been instructed by the trainer. The trainer will look out at first reaction, apprehension of the thief and return of the victims belongings.
The mock up session seeks out to teach the police in training that the first impulse is not pulling the gun and shooting. First, the officer in charge should learn about the situation and secondly take the appropriate action. The lesson here is to help the police in training that many innocent people end dying out of police mistake or even segregation based on race. This session will help make the training much more visual and interactive as the trainees will see firsthand how other handled the situation and how they should handle the situation.
Part 3
Intelli path is an online learning platform that is highly adaptive of the learners behavior and learning curve. The technology uses adaptive learning technology that is built around the study curriculum; it offers a learning map that allows the student to read, watch and listen to course content wherever they are. The technology studies a students learning patterns and seeks out to help students study what is especially important to them.
Characteristics of Intelli path
Efficiency in Learning: The technology looks into wat the student has already learned, it then lets him/her skip the session. This helps to ensure that a student finishes up a course depending on their timelines.
Personalized content: Intelli path uses an analytics engine that is able to study a students pattern, it conducts assessment through practice questions and then it arrives on what is best for the student.
Adaptive content: Intelli path adjust students learning content based on the assessed level of performance of the student, it recommends further reading on certain topics or more consultation with the professor ("Personalized Learning with Intellipath&trade", 2017).
Behaviorism is incorporated into machine learning, through the use of deep learning tools, behaviorism ideas have been incorporated into learning patterns. The only detrimental factor about this kind of learning is that it may lead to laziness and inadequacy of knowledge in students using the platform.
