Introduction
Engineering has always been my favorite career choice every time I was a young kid. I have had the privilege to visit various world cities such as Dubai, Paris, Boston, Beijing, and New York, and what stood out for me were the great architectural and engineering designs of the skyscrapers. Most of them have taken years to build and can even withstand high magnitude earthquakes. The marvelous looking buildings made me passionate about building and construction, and civil engineering but as I enrolled for my undergraduate studies, I decided to settle for mechanical engineering. Back in high school, I worked hard so that my grades would not deny me the chance to pursue my passion and true to that, and I realized my dream owing to the support of my teachers, parents, and friends.
During my undergraduate studies, I acquired competence in programming tools such as C++, MATLAB, AutoCad, Creo Parametric, and eQUEST. I also became proficient in Microsoft Office Application tools such as Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, making me a jack of many trades. I believe this would be essential in securing me a chance to further my studies in Engineering Management at graduate school. My fluency in the Arabic language will boost my cooperation with the student and scholarly fraternity at graduate school. I have a strong belief that enrolling to the graduate school will benefit the corporate sector since I will use the knowledge acquired to impact change to the various engineering companies through innovation. This would be my short-term career plan. Installing fire suppression systems, servicing lifts and escalators in buildings, and installing HVAC systems in buildings are some of the solutions that I, being a mechanical engineer can perform with the utmost integrity. This could involve setting up an engineering company as a long-term plan towards using the knowledge acquired to impact change to the economy and society.
I am pursuing to enroll for a graduate degree because of the great reputation that the institution enjoys. With over 50 years since its inception and the release of notable scholars who have impacted change into the world, I hope to be part of the great initiative in education. I have a strong belief that I will influence the University culture in a positive way by being innovative during the course of my studies. I enjoy networking and could use my communication and entrepreneurial skills to the benefit of the University community.
My experience in the mechanical engineering field is adequate having worked in an Engineering firm for six months. Since I am passionate about leadership, I have also taken a call in project management. This zeal about leadership has been with me since the time I was in high school since I like seeing the best in others. Exercising leadership makes me proud and raises my self-esteem, which is a positive thing. My skills in project management are phenomenal, having collaborated with a team to build energy models of buildings using eQUEST software. I have a good reputation when it comes to engineering writing since I have successfully prepared several technical write-ups for projects proposals. This can be attributed to the fact that I always put my best when it comes to delivering on anything, be it a job, or university assignment. The tendency to give my best shot in almost everything as I do has been beneficial to everyone involved. Particularly, it has helped me reduce the many flaws one could make while taking part in an engineering project. I believe that this "give it your all/give it your best shot" attitude will become instrumental, and I look forward to joining the graduate school with the kind of mentality and zeal.
