The main role of the criminal justice system is to create and maintain order the country. Breaking of law and disorderliness are common occurrences that must be checked by law enforcement groups. The Department of Homeland Security must secure the public from lawlessness posed by drug users, prostitutes and international criminals. There are various factors that lead people to commit criminal acts. Social exclusion and deprivation are most significant psychological factors that predispose individuals to crime (Hale, 2013). These factors, however, are not applicable to every case of lawlessness.

Illegal drug users, for, example, develop this habit primarily because of the availability of the drug in the black market. The initial stages of drug addiction involve the intake of small doses of the drug. Drug dependence and tolerance soon sets in and the person pursues a higher dose to maintain the same feeling. This trend is attributable to the presence of drug in both small and high quantities. Another factor that contributes to the acquisition of drug abuse behavior is peer pressure. Many chronic drug users started the habit in their youth after being influenced by their friends.

Prostitution is a perfect example of a crime that is initiated by social deprivation. Many male and female prostitutes resort to this business due to lack of education that can land them to better sources of income. National statistics show that male and female prostitution is concentrated in areas with high population of blacks and Hispanics with low income and social status. Prostitution is also associated with the commission of other illegal activities like drug peddling and street robbery. Some international crime like money laundering and human trafficking are partially perpetrated by politicians and other leaders in power. The operatives of international criminal have a backing from the political class which siphons a lot of money from these illegal businesses. Illegal international trade is also facilitated by the existence of an established market and customers. There is also a clear supply chain whose links are efficient people with skills to evade law enforcers.

Dealing with crime of any kind calls for concerted efforts of multiple stakeholders. The police cannot eliminate all the criminal links that exist in all the cities of the nation. The community must partake in the apprehension of drug suppliers and vendors. Additionally, parents and teachers must instill good morals in children to prevent them from joining criminal gangs where they can engage in street crimes like robbery and homicides. Since social exclusion plays a key role in the development of criminal behavior, community custodians like the church and charitable organizations should combine efforts to build solid communities centered on the welfare of the family. International collaboration between the Homeland Security and International Police will help in nabbing international criminals who pose as diplomats in foreign countries. Cutting the drug supply chain ate various links is the most promising anti-drug battle (Mejia & Restrepo, 2016). Cultivation of poppy and bang fields should be regulated by the government. All cargo entering the countrys borders must be thoroughly scrutinized to prevent the importation of drugs of abuse. Effective elimination of street gangs and their prison subsidiaries will also significantly reduce illegal drug supply in the country.
