Essay on the Number of Computer Science Female Graduates has reduced significantly from the year 1987 to 2012 (Wadhwa, Vivek). The main reason behind the fall is the challenges that women face in the profession when they try to enter and try to grow. The difficulties they face starts from the initial stage after school in the job search period where they face considerably discouraging process as women to enter the field. The research carried out indicates some of the recruitment processes have contributed to the trend because they discourage women from making applications. For example, some job specifications made while advertising for the positions discourage females from applying and hence making them avoid studying computer science. The fundamental norms of women in applying for jobs includes applying for positions that they qualified unlike their male counterparts and descriptions of the jobs adverts require high qualifications that fresh graduates mostly do not have. The job descriptions act as a turn off point for women and contribute to the reduction in females graduates in the field.

Diversification in the employees in the tech companies is vital because of several benefits that arise with it. First, several opportunities in the sector those remain untapped because of insufficient diversification (Wadhwa, Vivek). It is because there is a biological difference in the way women think and behave as compared to men. In meeting the needs of the females, there is a need for female application and software developers to participate in the process so that they can come up with products that meet the needs of women. The involvement of women in the development of the current applications and new ones that cover most of their preferences would lead to fulfilling of their unsatisfied needs. The importance of allowing women to participate in the development of the software and application is because women would understand the needs of other women better (Wadhwa, Vivek). On the other hand, the tech companies would get increased revenues because of increased consumption of their products because of growing the platform of their loyal customers. A previous study indicates most loyal consumers of tech products such social media are women, a trend that means the development of applications that meet their needs well would have relatively high chances of succeeding and gaining loyal consumers. Diversification also helps in the improvement of team spirit among employees. When in a team is a balance regarding gender distribution, there is usually significantly a lower level of stress with a higher brainstorming of ideas. Problems tend to be solved in a more natural way with reduced tension and hence a necessary ingredient for a relatively successful teamwork. Finally, diversification improves the efficiency of the team and the general working process and therefore a need in the tech industry because it would improve the general organization performance.

The tech companies should rethink their recruitment process so that more women can be absorbed in them. The current recruitment processes mostly suit male applications and reduce the chances of achieving the required diversification balance, a factor that denies the companies the benefits of diversification (Wadhwa, Vivek). Rethinking the recruitment process would encourage more females into studying computer-science and would increase the talent which the companies would choose on employees. Increase number of women graduates would work to the advantage of the companies as they would have a higher number ability to chose representatives from that would easily bring success. A different recruitment process would also ensure there is a female joining the team in every recruitment time, and this would improve the diversification balance.
