Introduction
Multiculturalism simply means features that are commonly found in certain groups of people, for instance, traditional beliefs, historical events, and customs. On the other side, diversity is varying ideas caused by injustice and inequality. Diversities that may arise in an institution include racism and sexism. The paper will there discuss the procedures on how the organization in any institution should take initiative action to educate the nursing staff on issues relating to multiculturalism and diversity especially matters relating to racism and sexism in their workplace.
On the side of multiculturalism, the nursing staff is encouraged to adhere to the following guidelines in order to eliminate out racism and cultureless at their workplace. Firstly, they should form a committee which composes of cultural competence committee in order to help them in matters relating to delivering of services, governing, planning, and implementation of staff programs. Secondly, they are also urged to put more emphasis on the issue relating to their mission by writing it down ( Powell, 2009). Also, nursing staff should adopt knowledge concerning their problems from a more established institution so as to avoid racism and sexism within their organization. Moreover, they should maximize available resources that they may have acquired through funding technical assistance. Similarly, they are supposed to thoroughly supervise their organizations by analyzing which method to apply in order to determine their achievable goals. This can only be obtained by putting across some new changes in staff patterns and administration programs.
Furthermore, the nursing staff should engage themselves in the finding cultural groups which are familiar with the people and know whether they are gathered for through accessing them in terms of communal services. Besides, they have a duty to address the issue of having a team work through engaging with all the staff members during discussing of issues affecting them, for instance, those that are related to beliefs and people attitudes Weinstein, et al. 2017). They should also conduct research to determine their needs and those from the ethnic groups. In addition, nursing staffs must consider assigning part of their budget through attending workshops, conferences, and seminars so as to identify their vacancies for other staff members. Also, nursing staff should adhere to the inclusion of cultural competence in the explanations of their work starting from the beginning of employment practice and alert themselves on the benefits of cultural awareness.
Similarly, nursing staff should also be a concern with the duration of time taken by people based on their health status and honor means of passing information among various ethnic groups. The other strategy that should be noted down by the nursing staff is the gathering of data from the library, online and also printed materials especially those dealing with cultural diversity which is later used by the other staff members at their workplace. Finally, the nursing staff should ensure that they have created a link between them, informants, experts, and the entire society, for example, establishing the leadership opportunities which are non-racial.
