Introduction

This is one of the best Harry Potter movies ever produced. It involves adventure like never before when Harry Potter battles giant lizards, faces the Death Eaters and probably the most difficult challenge of them all was inviting a girl for a date at the Yule Ball. Keeping in mind that the movie was part of a long series of Harry Potter movies where audiences got to watch their favourite actors grow, I would say that this particular one was vital in showing the audiences how Harry and his friends went through this specific stage in life. As much as the movie was thrilling from start to finish, it also featured some of the darkest scenes as compared to previous Harry Potter movies. This might explain why it Parental Guidance rating was higher than the other three.

The movie has a scary beginning. For many movie lovers, this is a good thing because it keeps you on the edge even before the movie starts. However, in the case of this particular movie, the film begins with Harry's dream that involves Voldemort killing two individuals. Although the killing is not shown, it is well implied. The movie also contains sadistic spells and even death. During defence class, Professor Moody informs the students that he will be teaching them the 'Unforgivable Curses' spell which involved three stages namely; command, torture, and kill.

Majority of Harry Potter fans were children, and therefore, some of the sadist spells featured in the movie would be considered inappropriate for the movie's audience. A spell such as that of changing a student to an animal has been casually thrown around as the use of magic while in actual sense it is advocating for cruelty. During the Triwizard Tournament, human life is disregarded especially that of a child when students are encouraged to participate in the event that is well-known to be extremely dangerous.

The movie promotes friendship. In several instances, Harry and his friends help each other complete various tasks. However, Harry is also involved in cheating after he is given a unique plant that would help him stay underwater for an extended period of time. Nevertheless, the value of family and friends stands out at every corner of the movie especially in the end when Harry's parents provide him with a magic wand to fight off Voldemort.

Looking at the duel between Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort, one cannot help but question the involvement of ghosts in that particular part of the movie. Harry's deceased parents appear in a ghostly manner to provide their son with advice and help him take down Voldemort. The movie also indicates that the source of Harry's powers and that of Voldemort are the same, but the only difference is the intentions and the manner in which one decides to use his/her powers.

Conclusion

This was undoubtedly one of the best movies in the Harry Potter series because it provided its audience with a dark glimpse into the wizard's world. It also saw the introduction of other Wizard Schools as well as the world of endless possibilities. It helped broaden the imagination of its young audiences and prepared them for darker times ahead as it would later be revealed in the other Harry Potter movies that followed.
