Blade II is an American film that was produced in 2002 and was based on fictional character Blade from Marvel Comics (Solman 3). The movie was written by David Goyer and talked about the human-vampire Blade to protect people from vampires. Blade found himself in a fierce battle with a group of vampires that are incredibly savage and powerful and seek to commit genocide of both human beings as well as other vampires. Blade, together with other individuals is forced to join forces along with a specific group of vampires who are considered to be a select elite group. The movie was accepted and praised for its incredible performances, action sequences, direction and atmosphere. However, the film was criticized by critics for the lack of character development. Blade II movie was produced two years after the occurrences and events in Blade I (Solman 26). The idea of the reapers with stingers coming from their mouth was developed by Polish forktales where vampires are claimed to have a finger that they used to suck blood instead of using their teeth.

The original idea of David Goyer was to take Morbius as the main villain. The movie involves a war between implacable ancient enemies with sickening things that bite people and are not designed to let go. Wesley Snipes is depicted to be half-vampire and also as half-man (Solman 38). Wesley Snipes was raised in an environment of vampires since he was brought up by Whistler who was a vampire hunter and helped to keep Blade's vampirism in check. Moreover, Wesley Snipes was able to learn many things related to vampires as he was always with Blade when he was being trained on how to fight the Nosferatus. Acrobatic creatures that have red glowing eyes invade Blade's space, which led to a violent battle which ended up to be gratuitous. Reaper is a new breed of vampires which has an aim of attacking the entire vampire nation as well as human beings (Solman 38). The Reapers suck and drink the blood of both vampires and human beings and are insatiable.

The Reapers have scars at the center of their chins and are the masterpieces of the movie. Also, the Reapers have mouths that unfold into tripartite jaws and also have claws that they use to scratch people and get blood to suck. Conclusively, the movies have been criticized due to its script as well as its lack of character development, for instance, in the roles played by Blade and Wesley Snipes.
