It is always imperative to have independent minds regarding the happenings around us, however, I would like to change your perception about mythology. Myths are part of peoples lives and can never be ignored at whatever cost. They are, therefore, stories explaining certain phenomena that involves some events or supernatural beings. Myths and religion are inseparable. Some of the most known and old that have been and will always discussed among different people includes: The Hinduism mythology, The Native America mythology and even The African mythology. The myths are presented by different materials, giving them important meaning in the communities they are found. They served important roles to not only the early people but also to the contemporary society in which the young people lives in.

Myths are just like history because through them, people can relate the actual events that had taken place from time beyond reminiscence. A good example is the Egyptian mythology that is about the Osiris who was the most important pharaoh. He introduced civilization in Egypt by starting agriculture in different places, instituting laws that governed people and also encouraging people on the worship of their gods. He travelled from Egypt to other places spreading civilization. Through this myth, we get to know the history of civilization and how they spread from Egypt to other places.

In addition, mythology tries to give the explanations of what is believed to be unexplainable. Also why culture did some things. For instance, the Hinduism mythology which explain how the of creation of the universe took place. They give an explanation of Brahma as the creator of everything in the world, Vishnu as the preserver of nature and Shiva as definitive destroyer who was known to bring about any change whenever it was needed.

Moreover, myths are educative especially to the youths in the modern society in that they enable the understanding of the universe and all the creatures in it. They also teach the youths about the societal norms, what they are expected to do and even the consequences of their misdeeds. The Hindu epics were written in order to create good morals and uprightness among the young. One most renown epic was of Ramayana and Mahabharata. The most popular among these poetic epics are the Ramayana and Mahabharata. It is about the story and life of Rama just from his birth in the kingdom of Ayodhya up to the time he made great decision of defeating evil Ravana. This epic teaches the youths on the virtue of love, brotherhood and the great efforts one makes to have power over the ultimate evil.

Nevertheless, this field enables the understanding of answers to questions, what happens the moment we die? The Hindu mythology explains that death is just a passage that one must pass through. That death is never a calamity to them because Indians believes in the rebirth and the restoration of souls and that they are immortal.

Lastly, mythology is a great entertainment to many readers simply because they bear quite interesting stories to listen to. An example of Hindu mythology which have very beautiful drawings of their gods with bright colors interests the readers. I personally find it very interesting reading them to increase my knowledge and understanding about myths.

The myths are present everywhere especially in the popular culture materials which the teens in the contemporary world are using. Thousands of Television shows, music and movies that have their themes and story line being influenced or drawn from the ancient mythologies. The movie, Back from the dead from the Egyptian mythology has a storyline of Osiris who was the most important Pharaoh being killed and cut into many pieces by Seth.

Yours Sincerely,

Dad.
