Introduction

Film is considered part and parcel of art. It exists in a variety of forms, from photographic, art, to narrative, pictorial, performing as well as audiovisual art (Thompson & Bordwell). There are, however, certain subtle forms of film as an art, more so those that depict the various processes, products, stages, and phases of art. Evert aspect of such films reflects on the complexities, dynamics, and aesthetic values that art, as well as artists, possess. Technological advancements have made the appreciation of these forms of art more effective and created various ways that individuals can engage socially while still consuming the vast forms of entertainment presented. Movie theaters provide such an avenue.

The Regal Cinemas Battery Park 11 is a movie theater located in Battery Park City New York. On the 27th of July, I traveled to the city and upon viewing the theater on the internet, decided on visiting and catching a film while at it. The theater has an online and offline platform that is impressive. There is an application that allows for the reservation of seats once booked. On your way up the building, there is an astounding view of the Delancey St. Once in, the recliner seats ensure the comfort of the experience is guaranteed. The furniture, feel, and style of the theater is luxurious. The theater is strategically positioned next to a Shake Shack and this provides an alternative to the cliche popcorns. However, even if one was to stick to the popcorn, the texture, and flavor they possess is heavenly. The recliner seats provide the best comfort one would hope for, the theater is rarely crowded, and this creates a spacious environment that most people yearn for a relaxed night out. For this particular night, the scheduled film was As Dreamers Do (2014). This type of a movie attracts many people of different age sets, and the old man sitting next to me sighed," these days, you can catch on literary any show at the click of a button. Movie theaters are the most old-school feel I can get."

As Dreamers Do is an art film that resembles a documentary. It is a film that is based on the life of Walt Disney, a renowned animator and filmmaker, and the father of the Mickey Mouse among other animated film figures. In a few words, it is a depiction that behind every mouse, there is a man. This is Walt, a man who was filled with vast imagination and optimism towards life. He once stated, "If you can dream it, you can do it," and this is the very statement that perhaps inspired the title of the film. A movie based on the life of Walt Disney would have been a blockbuster, and this is the very reason that dozens of people streamed in to experience history remade. The film commenced with Walt as a small troublesome kid and the adventures he had. As the movie began, the acting was becoming subtle and quite annoying, more so to the current film industry dominated with actions that depict the reality around. The actors were merely reading the scripts rather than presenting the actions that would have blended with the words. This film was an understatement to the exemplary and challenging life that Walt Disney endured to become the man he was. For such a renowned individual, leaving out crucial information about his family was too reckless. Films that depict historical content often have a fate of being judged as legitimate sources of historical insights (Berg 124). However, many alterations introduced in the films can become unrecognizable more so to audiences familiar with such past events.

The experience of art in a social context is the best experience one can have as it creates a sense of humanity amongst the vast complexities presented in art. Movie theaters offer such an avenue. The furniture provides an even more comfortable experience, and the screens create a sense of technology meddling in every aspect of human lives. However, some films are a complete disappointment as forms of art or as depictions of the processes of art.
